So renting from Coventry RFC is better than renting from Wasps ?
Really ?

Do you know what the plans are? do you know what the deal is? Do you hell.

Why not wait to see what the finer details are before pissing all over the idea. People moan enough that the club aren't making any plans for a ground, and then they make some and people like you just whine.

You don't even know what the planned ground would be, I bet you didn't bleat when we were in the Premier League at Highfield Road when the capacity was 23K.

Its not my grand ideal, but we are where we are, and the Ricoh will never be ours, but still don't let that stop you on the moaning.

15000 is plenty for now. People moan that they can't/won't go up as the team isn't performing. Bollocks to them all. If they really all wanted to support the club then they've had a virtual clear run over the last 11 years in a ground thats been 'nearly' filled a total of 3 whole times. If they'd really supported the team when it mattered we wouldn't be where we are now.
Why should the club go out on a limb for people to go to one game every 3 or 4 years?
Financially, a larger capacity would make little difference if we ever did get to the premier league as the gate money is peanuts compared to the tv money.
Get a share in the Butts and move the club forward.

Guess we have finally accepted that we are happy to remain as div3 and div4 team.

In my eyes this deal is a total lack of vision and ambition.

If it rocks your boat then fine.

And forever renting from Wasps with no chance of increased revenue? Ditto.

Thinking about it you're right. We should stay in a 2/3 empty stadium with no income from it for us just on the off chance that we draw Crewe in the JPT area final again.

I think renting a soulless bowl for match days only, that's too big for us, to owning any % of a 15k seater stadium in a few years time would be progress actually.
You think progress will happen whilst SISU remain here? How do people even think such things when evidence is applicable to the contrary?

I don't think anyone's accepting anything other than we've been reduced to our knees as a club. Rebuilding from the state we've been left in will take years unless someone with more money than sense is taking over. In fact I think it's you with no vision. You sound like the type of fan who thinks we should still be making million pound signings and that Wasps are just waiting for a different CCFC owner to sell us half the Ricoh.

The funniest thing about this is all the posters who didn't give a shit about CRFC when it was suggested that they could go up the BPA instead of Sixfields, then did give a shit about CRFC when Wasps rolled up now all of a sudden don't give a shit about CRFC again because they're wishing SISU of all people on them. You couldn't make it up.

That's before you even get into the problems that will probably stop it happening in the first place not least of all some people think SISU will find a way to fund it. Pull your heads out of the sand people.

Don't need to give you any guesses as to why the crowd has dwindled.

Like I said if it rocks your boat.

If this happens and it stabilises my football club and gives it a brighter future then it indeed rocks my boat.

Well you did just make it up, I bet you couldn't name one person who ticks all those boxes. CRFC would have no obligation whatsoever to get into bed with current or future owners unless on their own terms or for their own benefit.

Don't fret, Ann did the worrying for us, thank goodness she gave "a shit":

“This is the most important decision this Council has ever taken about the future of one of its best community assets, and we would not have taken it unless we were confident it was the right thing to do. Wasps’ decision to make their home here is really important for the city and its future; it sees significant investment by a successful sports team that believes Coventry is the place to develop a world class sporting facility and is here for the long term.

“They have some really exciting plans for community and grassroots development that will bring massive benefits to Coventry youngsters, and a real commitment to deliver some great sporting opportunities across all our communities. This deal would not have happened if it threatened the future of the Sky Blues or Coventry Rugby Club.

I love the phrase "you couldn't make it up", it's used quite a lot on here.

How long you been waiting for that ... 9 years?

Yep, and I'll be waiting a lot longer if we have to continue to rent from those lovely guys from London.

Who are all those people then Tony? all those that didn't give a shit about CRFC?

What are all the problems that will stop it happening? as I am sure Jon Sharp is more knowledgeable and tuned in to the cost and planning issues than you will be. You mention SISU, but all I read is that this is a CRFC plan and they are in control.

If it happens then it will be because CRFC want it to.

Yep. After what has happened to us with Wasps and the Ricoh etc. I really do think we need to be careful here in what we wish for and are wanting.

Are we happy for Cov to play in a 2/3rds empty soulless stadium simply because it suits our needs?

Would love to see the Butts developed, but for Cov. Would love to see them in a lovely new 10,000 seater stadiums with improved facilities.

Think the aim should be to develop the Butts for Cov and for us to ground share there if no deal can be found at the Ricoh, until we can build our own stadium somewhere for us.
I can't see the attraction for CRFC in increasing capacity and over developing their stadium for CCFC. Secondly the prospects of a business partnership with SISU is hardly attractive. SISU seem to litigate as a matter of normal business practice. I would fear for CRFC.

Youre talking about that 12k pie money arent you?- what other revenue is available above that at the Ricoh? What's the cost to Sisu of moving to BPA (stadium capacity upgrade, seating, changing rooms, media upgrades, ground staff, security, access, parking, planning, project mgt). How long to break even for short-termist Sisu? 10 years?
It aint gonna happen.

Wha-hey, here's GPE. Keep meaning to ask. How long have you supported the Blue Skies?

Yes, I'm talking about revenue, the lifeblood of a club. You want that for your team surely? We're not getting that stuck at the Ricoh. So, what do you suggest?
