Protest (8 Viewers)

Some people are on the pitch......

Fisher was on his toes.

What was said on Sky?

They thought it was well organised and well thought out.
They totally understand why the fans did it.
They had never personally witnessed anything like it before.
They said it isn't going to be the last we hear about it.
They then did a bit about our demise.
They also said they can't condone it (whilst pretty much condoning it)
They said owners have got to start understanding what football clubs are about.
That they are people's families and life's.

Did anybody get arrested? It looks like they just put all of the fans back in the stands?

That can happen later unfortunately and don't put it past Fisher to make sure it does. All are on camera but this seemed spontaneous rather than arranged which could be a worry as fans get more desperate.

I hope no one is nicked. Came on shook players hands made the point and pissed off again. Hardly millwall at Luton !
I was just surprised even when there was like one person walking off they just let them walk back into the stand.

Saw two stewards behind the goal throwing kicks and a punch I think, pricks. It wasn't self defence.

These knuckle dragging stewards would have had their arses handed to them on a plate in the 80 s, fucking bullies

sky was surprisingly positive . it did help that there was no really bad behaviour from those on the pitch.
you do have to wonder whether sky picked us for another live game because they knew there would be a good chance of further protests.

That's the thing, yes the fans were in the wrong in the eyes of the law etc going on the pitch but I didn't see any violence towards stewards

George Gavin and Beagrie basically endorsed the actions of fans saying it was done in a dignified way. They understood the desperation of fans and the demise of this once great club. He actually sounded emotional himself due to it being his last game for sky. That said, he was keen to point out owners take on football clubs without appreciating the role they play in the lives of fans. That is completely lost on Fisher and he can't walk that path and understand the passion that leads to protests like tonight.

Well done to those who ran on the pitch. They got the banner on sky, stopped the game - point made.

The game was a mere side story to what was needed to be achieved tonight. Job done.

Ironically I think the atmosphere and the constant noise from the fans drove our players on - we played well.

Good idea - stupid time in the context of the game.

The context was national coverage of our plight. There is no guarantee that we lost because of the protest. Sheffield were better.

Even if we lost 2 points because of it, the possible long term value of the publicity is worth more.

We lost 5 on the run in the league beforehand without a pitch invasion.

Sorry, but I'm with the protesters on this one.

I'm not against the protestors... I thought they had done a great job up to that point... And there was plenty of mentions on Sky all night.

I take issue with the fact that in the context of the game at that point... It was not the right time. Do it at the end... Or at least in stoppage time when it's almost done. Or if you want to go down the line of they would have scored anyway then do it after they do.

We had the chance to get a point.... I'm fucked off we didn't get it.

Be interested to see what the league do to us? As I believe they are as culpable as the fans in this one!

They won't do anything. The worst they will do is a suspended 3 point deduction, because that's what they gave to Blackpool. The difference there was that their game was abandoned. Ours was completed, so at the very worst we get the same.

did you go to the game ? I didn't see anyone throwing punches or kicks at any point. and earlier on you didn't seem to know if the protest was inside or outside , and your post at 7.45 said you could here sisu out from ash green. so did you go, and if so where can I get one of those matter transporters you seem to have .

They need to get their own organisation in order first.
Just goes to show how they hid and paid off anyone who alleged they were abused.
They then let the abusers carry on at different clubs.
They are still allowing it by letting these parasites abuse our club.

Yes I went to the game, and yes i saw 2 stewards throwing their weight about when people were trying to get on.

You don't need a matter transporter to get from Ash Green to the Ricoh, it is next to it.

I asked about the sisu out chants being inside or out before the game.

There was a commotion in no man's land when 2 fans faced off, quite funny a big Sheff Utd fan faced up to City lad who looked about 12 only to be decked with one punch. The stewards then intervened throwing punches.

I saw some of the players (e.g. Sordell) talking to some of the protesters before they had to leave the pitch. All seemed pretty good natured, anyone know what was said?
