Good appointment considering, I'm a little worried about his defensive style because inviting pressure on to us with this defence is a bad idea.

I feel quite upbeat about this appointment, it's the first time in ages that I feel we've got a man in that really understands the level we are at, budget he can seriously work with and should identify the players who will come and roll there sleeves up, be counted and work for each other and the fans.

Interesting it's just till the end of the season
This continues the trend of short termism on most things recently
This could indicate that there are negotiations with a potential new owner
Or maybe not.....

Welcome to CCFC Mr. Slade. Happy with the appointment although they've dragged their heels for far too long. He loves a club that is in disarray.... Cardiff to Charlton, to the worst of the bunch, CCFC. Best of luck Sir, the SBA are behind you!

It's a good appointment and gives us hope. It would be nice to think that he hasn't had the wool pulled over his eyes by TF. If he has any sense, he'll have already spoken to TM and JFH.

I reckon Slade is certainly as good as we could have hoped for, given the state of the club and the useless owners we have. I hope he can turn the club around. In reality he may be a decent L1 manager but he is not a magician and I fear that with the club's economic policies it is an impossible mission.

The arrival of a new face with the usual platitudes, scarf-waving and 'new era' promise is a well-trodden path for this club. Seriously, is there any reason to suppose this will be any different from the previous incumbents? Unless, of course, we get new owners and an injection of funds pretty quickly.

Just noticed it's until the end of the season. Good to see the wankers thinking strategically with long term stability and continuity.

Harry Warren apparently played for Sheffield United/Notts Country/Blackpool.

I could be wrong here but Russell Slade the first CCFC manager to not play professional football since Bill Slade in 1931.

Bill slade and then Russell slade well there you go

I think it's a good choice. It's certainly got to be better than having Venus in charge, not that it could be much worse. He has vital experience of this level, which I think we're desperate for.
