whats he doing sniffing around ?

could we be closer to a takeover than we think ?

This would be the best victory today !

I am certain if a takeover happens Ray Ranson will return to the club in one guise or another, obviously resigned due to the introduction of Dulieu, Clouting and co. Does his appearance today indicate something is in the wind.......Hope so

God I hope so but no one has any idea how close we are? If we could just get this done we got a great chance of staying up

i dont think we have a cat in hells chance of staying up, i'm more concerned about the longevity of our club, and this may help !

So possibly this 10 days stuff from Keys was meant to tie up with an announcement just before this game where the 2 boxes worth of new owners & their entourages would roll up & take the applause.

But did anyone who was in Casino recognise a backer with money accompanying Hoff & Ranson?

did the deal with hoffman fall in ?? they say it did but mayby they were dealing under the table and now that Ken has gone it has paved the way for it to be complete?

It was Ranson, Elliott, Keys and Hoffman in the casino before the game. There were no others there, and it looked like Ranson his wife and children were there also at the players children's Xmas party. Ranson was met by hoff and Elliot before the game in the attrium

Ranson has unfinished business?

What is that completing what he failed to do last time and take us down?

Is this thread supposed to be positive? First win for god knows how long and now I feel depressed again!

Keys said that if the takeover would of happened in August then the Hoff would've been chairman.. I think Ranson may be the director of football and have a place on the board

I'm picturing the four of them in Reservoir Dogs-style attire with menacing vibe to match. Keys has to be Mr Pink.

Christ, I have never seen you post anything other than negative comments.

would like to see ranson back he at least knows football

Yeah, hence the appointments of Coleman and Boothroyd, and the millions wasted on decent players by these managers with nothing to show for it.

Still if we get new owners he'll have somebody else he can squeeze money out of after taking most of Sisu's.

A c**t of the first order.

Not sticking up for his credentials as a chairman or his reign here (in fact probably the opposite) but spending millions on players I think is a bit stretched. I would say the main positive element of his time here was his shrewdness in the transfer market.

just how many millions have we spent against what we have received against sales under Ranson, I cannot recall but I cannot recall spending millions either, so please give me a polite reminder

I find it intriguing that the scepticism greeting everything Ranson said and did whilst here seemed to disappear when he left and then claimed that if it weren't for the evil owners he'd have done X, Y and Z and seen us succeed.

Really ?
I allways thought RR was good for our club.
And think we would better in good shape now if Sisu had let him run the club the way he had wanted to.

Surely that applies to anyone; I mean, I'd do great if someone let me run the club the way I wanted to, it's just a question of where we'd get the 12ft chocolate likeness of myself made.

Unfortunatly Gaz this is an answer no one knows the answer to.
When he left was it all bull what he spouted off? Anyone could say this that and the other IE Andy Carrol, Henderson guess we will never know
That again depends if someone wants to believe him or not.

Myself I would like a complete fresh change here with non of the old sisu people around, ok hoffman has to be if of course he wants to or if the people he is introducing do infact takeover, however from several rumours he just wanted to introduce people now people are saying he is going to be chairman, depends who and if you believe rumours I suppose.

Have just reread this post " having taken most of sisu money ............

Now ranson may not be a great chooser of managers but his game plan of buying and selling at the right time/price was spot on.

But my you are ridiculous so Ranson had most of the so called 38 million debt.....

some people are pathetic

"His" gameplan of buying and selling at the right price?

Wish you Ranson/Sisu lovers would get a bit of consistency, you're going to get dizzy with all the spinning around.

When Dann and Fox were sold, we were told(by Ranson), that we couldn't stop them going as couldn't compete with Prem/Scot Prem teams.

Now, all the sycophants agreed with Ranson when he said this, and would immediately start knocking Dann and Fox as "overrated anyway", got some good money for them.

A few of us suspected(correctly as it turned out) that they were being sold to cover the season's losses, considerable I'd have thought with the players bought, but with nothing to show for it on the field, and with declining crowds.

Did say at the time, that if it was to cover losses etc, then at least be honest about it, but all believed the "Ruthless Ray" line.

I think that Dann/Fox the only players signed under his watch sold for any sort of profit anyway?

When Ranson later(after being turfed out) claimed that he was told to sold them by Evil Sisu(Who, of course he had no connection with apart from being involved in trying to take over Southampton with them, before coming in to Coventry with them to stop Uncle Joe's ticking clock), then all of a sudden it wasn't the good business sense that everybody who sucked up to Ray believed.

So, Cloughie, did he sell Dann/Fox at the right price, or did Sisu? You can't have it both ways, and if they were sold at the "right price" as you seem to believe, then you're a fully paid up supporter of the Sisu game-plan?

Things were better under Ranson though?

was commenting on the ridiculous statement that ranson had most of sisu's money, but if they hadn't sold players against Ransons wishes who knows what might have happened ....

ICHAN your right, I guess we will never know, it could be just like the Eric Black situation.
But I thought his plan was right for us as a club.
Remember him making Leonard Brody look very silly on CWR when he left and at the time made me realise that he couldn't run the club the way he wanted to

Think you will find that fox and dann were later sold by other clubs for consideribly more money than what we sold them for ,

Hoffman said that he persuaded Ranson not to resign over the selling of those players as he knew they were worth more . Sold by sisu

I have yet to see you post a positive post on here , would just love to know what your solution to the Sky blue problem is?

2 things, if Ranson comes back, he will be under pressure to back up his tatements regarding SISU not backing him.

Secondly, his track record of getting players to sign new deals (all be it this may have been hampered SISU tight purse strings) is dismal, especially compared to recent history.
