Cov Hotels/Parking (5 Viewers)

Just looked at a hotel for next Tuesday night, prices are mostly doubled as apposed to a Saturday, not sure why, even on the Wednesday, it's more, so not because of the football.

Also, does anyone know of any overnight car parks in the city centre? May be staying at the Britannia, but it has no parking.

Thanks in advance, Nick if this belongs in the off topic, feel free to move :)

Which Britannia?

Are you going out after the game in the city or just for the game?

Will be higher in the week for "business" I guess.

Hotel prices are normally more in the week because their biggest customer base is business people.

Don't know if you can stay overnight, but meet me in the Cov Uni car park and I'll get you 24 hours for £2 ;)

If you aren't fussed about how close to the ground / city centre you are go on booking.com

They have rooms available at the Royal Court for £89 with free parking.

Yeah, was going to suggest Royal Court. Free parking, not too far from the ground.

Leave car there, get a taxi to ground or stop off at Craftsman for one.

Cheers for the replies, yes the cheapest one I've found is Britannia in city centre by pool meadow.

I normally stay at days or ibis, but they're £150 and £130, normally about £50-60.

Not really fussed about it being a nice hotel, just somewhere to kip for the night. Ideally a clean room though lol.

Might ring up the Ramada, n see if they have rooms, as that didn't come up on hotels.com.

The plan is, get to cov, dump the car, get on the beers, maybe a couple after the game. Then just have a kip overnight n go back in the morning.

At least the royal court is slightly better (never stayed there though).

Royal Court, 89 a night with parking. Can easily walk from there to the Ricoh via a pub or just get a taxi.

Can go via Craftsman, Hub, Bull and anchor or just the casino.

Royal court is the choice of you haven't booked yet. Free parking and a gym and steam if you fancy it before the beers lol

Get on the beers and can even walk to the game from there and taxi is 5 mins. Haven't checked the prices but if it is 89 then that's the choice.

As mentioned earlier by someone, hotels busiest nights of the week, are typically Tuesday and Wednesday due to transient business travel. Touristy places are also normally close to high occupancies at weekends with leisure guests. If there's a large event on as well, such as a conference/exhibition at the Ricoh, that could also sell out city centre hotels and push rates up.

Yeah, just rang Ramada, no rooms available. Will have a proper look after work.

Anyone know when tickets go on sale?

Anyone with a real sense of humour could book a room at the Hylands on Warwick Road.

The reviews on Trip Advisor are hilarious......

With the Britannia, are the rooms/beds clean? To be honest, it's just somewhere to crash over night, not too fussed as long as the beds are clean. That's all I expect from budget hotels.

Hi try EBookers and use voucher code AFFMVC117 which should give 14% discount on some of the hotels (works on Premier Classe £55.00 down to £47.30 for single)
Hope this helps

The reviews aren't great are they? It has a real bad reputation. Are the ibis hotels full?

The Days Inn has space. Never been, but can't possibly be worse than the Britannia. Tripadvisor reviews are alright too.

What about Coundon Lodge? Not too far from the Ricoh.

Always use the Premier Inn Earlsdon Park (old Cov Tech). Clean, very good value and excellent staff. NCP parking towards Butts Stadium at £5 per night.
