But then what is the point of him going? By then it will be coffin nailed down completely.(puts tin hat on)
Don't forget Micky Adams went 8 games or so before he won a game. It must be said that things do not look good for Slade, but I will judge him after Oldham Wimbledon and Gills - if we don't win any of those, I do not see him staying on until May.
The only thing I think we could do would be to blood youngsters and tell them there's no pressure, no weight on their shoulders and to just go out there, get some game time and enjoy themselves.

As Eakin said today, we could be 11 points behind by tomorrow.
Hardly any of the players are going to be here after the summer.

Since he's turned up the football has been dire. Do you actually go the games? He needs to go now!
Feel sorry for him today on the striker front. Both his two new signings injured, no strikers on the bench.
That doesn't even belong to the Club. What other manager has to use part of his player budget to decorate the training ground which was a disgrace and run down. That one point says everything to me about our owners and their vision for the club
Present Slade = ARSEI suggest we use these abbreviations:
BRS - Before Russel Slade
ARS - After Russel Slade

I'd have him back in a shot.If I was Venus I'd have been begging mowbray to come back
Too late now but he would have kept us up if he hadn't walked away
I'd have him back in a shot.
We were playing really good football under Mowbray though and just lacked a goal scorer. So close to getting it right before he walked out.
Are you really defending them!? Bolton game was 4 games ago since then we've picked no points and scored no goals! It's an embarrassment! How can justify this shit?First couple of games were decent, we outplayed Bolton for example.
We are not the only ones are we? Bury looking at that table...what the hell happened to them? Are SISU in charge there too?
This agree with . If we dont win 2 out of next 3 play likes of harries finch pontecelli dke spence etc. We may be relying on them next season.
Also play gadzhev and jones bigi etc. Players who will be here in league 2
Hmm, so bottom when he left and there were his recruitments.
Yep, definitely Slade's fault.
I too was very impressed with the signing of Mowbray as our manager when we got him.Ok, seriously, who gives a flying toss about blame?! Mowbray failed to sign the quality he targeted, then was forced to sign the dross available...he bottled it, resigned, then the Venus experiment which went horribly wrong, and now step forward Slade.
Team under TM = shit. Team under MV = started off promisingly, but the bounce wore off, hence - shit. Team under RS = shitter than the previous two, taking into account tactics, team selections and overall style of play.
Blame, blame, blame...we blame the managers, we blame the players, we even blame ourselves. Who SHOULD we blame, ultimately? Exactly.
Not one single manager can function or succeed in this desiccated, corrupt, half-arsed climate that this club exudes. Mowbray, I believe, was the best manager we could have hoped for - he got us to 8th, which in hindsight, considering the grand shitpit of this club's preceding 15 years, was remarkable.
Our reality now is one of hopelessness, which nobody can stop. Blame who you like, mate, but I know where my blame is ALWAYS directed.
I think this is the question really, do you give up the fight and start preparing for league two. Giving more kids a chance and put them in the shop windowI posted this in the match thread, but it's relevant here too.
I was all for giving RS time etc, I thought the calls for his head were premature, but we are absolutely clueless.
No tactics, no adaptability, no motivation, no passion.
Unfortunately there's no point getting rid of him as whoever comes in will have the same players and were down already anyway.

I never wanted anyone to do so well as him either. Seemed a very decent, honest bloke and he did try to play football in the right manner.
The football has got worse.Slade seems a nice bloke but he really needs to be given the ejector seat treatment first thing Monday morning!
He's made us worse since arrival and looks completely out of his depth - I can't see us scoring again under Slade - nevermind fucking winning! Even Venus - the odious rent boy, got us a few points on the board.
We most certainly do not want to be building a new squad completely from scratch. The bigger problem for me is this summer and finding stability with a manager before may. The retained list I think needs to be presented in may, and work on assembling the new squad needs starting at the earliest opportunity as we don't want to end up in the same position as last summer.
And apparently not a lot of us either . :wacky:He interviews like a manager who is not going to be here next year
