It's cloudy in Greater Manchester today, so I don't think it is frosty. It's more of a cold wind.
Oldham is known for the cold wind blowing in off Saddleworth Moor just beyond the ground. If you haven't been before, wraup up extra extra warm. The wind chill means you are colder than the thermometer temperature.

Beavon is doubtful. Yakubu wont sign or wont be ready, Folivi is probably not match fit.
Burge will be in goal.
Can't see anything other than another defeat 1-0 or 2-0.

And just when you can't see your team winning .... you know what happens.

I think Folivi will have to play. No other option.
Don't you think George Thomas would be better ......confidence after the goal on Tuesday? If Folivi is still sore from his injury he might be a better bet from the bench.

I know it very well mate.
As Garry Nelson says in Left Foot Forward, the glowering moorlands rising away from the ground like part of a vast, unconquerable kingdom.

I am giving it a miss - off to Byatt's Brewery for the tour and a drink or two between 3-5pm tomorrow, a bit closer to home and a tad warmer!

You'll have to post if it's any good, wouldn't mind trying it out before a home game

Will do - unfortunately none of the tours for the rest of the season (they seem to do one per month) coincide with CCFC home games :(

However I will establish tomorrow if there is a bar available on Saturdays, a "brewery tap" on the site of the brewery itself. it'd be handy as it is en route from the city centre to the Ricoh - also free parking nearby if you don't mind the walk to the Ricoh (and you have a designated driver)

They do have a tap, that's what I was getting at.

It depends if Beavon plays, I think he is a strong doubt so it leaves Tudgay on his tod up front after a full 90 in the week.

Is George Thomas unfit? If not, do you not fancy him up front with Tudgay?

He seems OK on the right but I guess in an emergency situation.

It then leaves a gap on the right of midfield.
As I said on the other thread, why not fill that gap with Jodi Jones?

Tudgay looked absolutely shattered on Tuesday and by the end of the game his legs had gone.

You have to remember he is now 34 and can hardly expect him to run himself into the ground all by himself up front.

Personally, if Beavon is out, as is likely, I would be inclined to play Folivi up front on his own, or in tandem with George Thomas, especially if Tudgay is fatigued.

Need to avoid the high balls though and will have to try and play down the channels.

Now this may be a bit radical, but what about this option today, which I think could actually work.

Turnbull can play at left back. He has played there quite a bit before. George Thomas can obviously play up front and Reid was pretty awful on Tuesday.

Also been plenty of discussion before about playing Haynes and DKE higher up the pitch.

Therefore ...

RCC

Foley Clarke Rawson Turnbull

DKE Rose Reilly Haynes

Thomas Folivi

I honestly think that would play out pretty well. Defensively solid, with DKE and Haynes both possessing the ability to get forwards.

Don't think for a minute though that Slade will go for it.

Texted him 6 times now and not a sausage back.

Why were you asking Slade for a sausage?

It was Friday night, he was a little tipsy, I was a little desperate. I hadn't had a sausage in ages.

What else can I say? :(
Was it a coctail sausage you asked slade for?

Just wondering, and this may seem a bit odd, but has anyone recorded SSNs Gillette Soccer Saturday before to follow a City match?

I usually am at games, or listening to games on CWR, or following them on SSN on a Saturday, or keep checking in my phone.

Today is my dad's birthday though and we have a table booked for 3 pm. It will be rude to keep checking my phone, but I do want to follow the match. Going to be impossible without showing a bit of rudeness.

Therefore the plan is to record Soccer Saturday, come home from the meal not knowing the score and then watch the whole thing unfold.

Is that a bit weird?

Just don't want to look at my phone after the game and see the score straight out like that.

Think if I watch on Sky Sports, if we go a couple of goals down I can turn the thing off.

I think it may come to it that we have to play George Thomas and Folivi up top.

Sit them down and tell them they are now being given the gate keys for the city. Fire them up as much as possible. George has made his step up now after Tuesday, it's time to be a man, and we can't drop any more points.

Everyone saying about rcc in goal but slade seems to prefer burge in the league games.

Would pick rcc over burge in goal any day myself

Sh*t or bust time. We have a mountain to climb but after Tuesday we at least show we have capacity to fight for results. Can't see us avoiding the drop but we need to build on the battling spirit of Tuesday from now to the end of the season

Even with a shortage of strikers, if the rest are organised and have the battling determination of Tuesday it gives you more than half a chance. Hopefully after Tuesday they will have a positive mindset. Huge game today. PUSB

Win today and we could be a lot closer to those above.

Back that up with another win and suddenly it could look a lot rosier.

We can't buy a win at the moment though can we, so to expect to suddenly win two on the bounce sounds a crazy notion.

Anyway, we have to win today. Lose and we are surely down.

The difference today between win and defeat is massive. Win and we are 4 points behind Oldham. Lose and it is 10 points.

A 6 pointer for sure. A draw won't help much at all really.

Two of the key games today you would have to say are Scunthorpe v Shrewsbury and Bury v Swindon.

You would think Scunthorpe would win. We can gain points on them with a win.

If we were to win today you would think it would be best for Swindon and Bury to draw. Make up 2 points on the both of them.

The more teams around us and close to in terms of points the more chance we have.

Win today please and let's see where we are.

How ironic that at start of season we were talkijg about being top heavy and how many strikers do we need etc. And now we are struggling to put any strikers on pitch.
