Minority of one.
So you thought he was actually going to be sacked and not kept until the end of the season?

Or just having your usual drooling fuck up attempt of a dig at one of my posts? Shock.

Think he would be a positive influence over a young squad

Let's hope he can bring more modern day tactics to the game, along with coaches
I think the fact we are relying on youngsters has been instrumental in our downfall.
Lacking experience and generally bullied in matches.

Having seen it from the inside why on earth would Ricketts take it? Unless he only plans a one job managerial career he'll be confined to the shitlist before he's ever had a fair go.

appoint a man who can give it a real go at getting out of league 2 but more importantly put a structure in place to give him every chance of doing so.
Let him start building and recruiting for next year now and learn from the mistakes of this years disastrous close season.

Maybe there was something in my comment yesterday on the match thread #188 about Playing bigi

My contact said something around the Bigi issue had caused a problem.

Anyway it will be Ricketts apparently.

If a new man is to be announced tomorrow it has to be Sam Ricketts surely.

Unless the board have been lining someone up behind Slade's back.

It's been a disastrous appointment.

He's come in and made a failing side even worse, despite 8 signings.

You're right when you say the board will have made the decision. However the word 'board brings to mind a body of people gathered around an oval table talking through the issues, discussing the pros and the cons and then coming to an informed decision. Our board is Fisher and Venus and there in lies part of our problems.

Why didn't he go after us losing on Tuesday?
Agreed. Timing seems a bit odd. It looks like Bury sealed his fate but that he was asked to dtay on and take the team to Shrewsbury, god knows why.

Because he surely gets in with very little expectation upon him.

No-one would no blame him if we continued to lose every game until the end of the season. It would all be laid on what went on before.

Next season he would be given at least til Christmas and I am sure talk will be of consolidation and therefore less expectancy again on his shoulders.

He's on a winner really.

Wow 4 managers in one season ,hope the new manager gets the ball on the deck where most of these players have learnt to do instead of hoofing in the air

We're still to equal the 2011 2015 when we went through 5!

Slade was a shockingly bad choice in retrospect and I feel he was always pushing the shit back in.
I wish the same action was taken on Fisher for his abysmal stewardship of our club.
No lights on therefore no tunnel.

You said it "in retrospect". I have to say I thought he would be the perfect appointment, but I got it totally wrong. I think I would rather have a "proper" manager who would be here next year rather than a stop-gap such as a Rickets/Ogrizovic "dream team".

At least now the team will be selected and set up to play proper football, and if it is Sam Rickets he will use that midfield we played yesterday, just hoping he can get something going with the strikers too. A question, do you think he will favour Rcc above Burge?

Both very naive and in the situation we are in an old head is needed but too late.

The clubs tweet just says Russell Slade is leaving the club with immediate affect, doesn't say whether he was sacked or walked. If it's the latter it can only be because he doesn't want relegated on his CV, only problem there Slade is you can't erase the league game stats they go with you old son

And what is this other announcement tomorrow ? The new manager is an obvious thought but maybe just maybe dear Joy has at last kept her eye on the ball and realised her trusted ccfc chairman is way out of his depth. How many managers has he appointed ?

Ricketts won't keep us up but will try to get us playing good football and give the younger lads a go. I'd imagine he'll have the respect of the players and let them play with freedom. At least we might go down with some kind of pride.

JL

Jody Jones and Ben Stevenson might even get a start. We can but hope.

Yes I fess up too, I thought he was ideal for our predicament.

Just shows how wrong you can be!

Relieved of his duties sounds like sacked.

I thought I read "relieved of his duties" somewhere, so I think he has been sacked rather than walked. During the week he stated he wanted to be here for the long term.

Many did say that.

Fair play to you holding your hands up.

No point spending more wages for a team that can't be saved now.

Put eaden/ricketts in charge till the summer, if they show some signs of promise let them have a go in league 2. If they are shit get rid and recruit a new manager in the summer.

Thank fuck for that, take Clarke and Foley with him please.

We're down but let's start building for next season now

How do we build from now?
We have to stick with what we have to the end of the season.
At the end of the season the loans will all go and any decent players we have left will be sold.
We start again next season with a new 11 I'm afraid.

it was playing Bigi that did it, as it's supposed to have triggered some clause in his contract that'll cost money.

Who's next? Doesn't matter, until we have new owners the jobs impossible.

How true is this though?

Wouldn't surprise me, as the balance sheet is more important than results but....
