Anyone out there who was undecided or unlikely to renew now having a rethink?
Must admit I wasn't going to renew next season, but this gives food for thought . We are relegated, Robins or not, but if the club are showing the slightest signs of ambition then that's welcome.

Yep. Robin's in charge I am definitely in.

If Fisher was to announce that money was available to the manager that would mark a significant shift in policy, but it won't happen.

will depend on the backing in summer really for most fans i think

but one thigns for sure. will be more ST holders than there would have been under slade.

Yes. Fast attacking exciting football. Will depend on who we bring in during the summer but definitely having a rethink.

I think we have about 5500 ST holders. a lot aren't renewing 7 in my family had them years at the moment none are renewing. It isn't just about existing ST holders though is it, what about new ones ? I can't see many newbies being attracted can you ?

tempting, as I grasp at any little bit of positivity & hope these days.... but truth be told, we need stability, investment & players more than we need new managers, who are only give the same old rubbish ( be that budget / players ) to work with.

Also what if mark Robbins isn't the messiah we think he is? End of the day he will still have to play kids and do the best he can. Not an enviable task.

I probably won't have a proper job before October, so probably not. But if I did, and if Robins performed as he did before, and if we looked like getting proper backing over the summer. Yes.

Just get one on finance, I know people don't like it (and I don't like it) but for cashflow it was easier!

Key this coming season is to bring players into the fold much earlier in the summer. None of this waiting around.

Robins shows intent early on that may convince people to sign up to another season.

Lately we have just dithered and dithered and waited and missed out on targets.

We need them lined up this time and bang, bang, bang, signed on the dotted line.

I think if we show the intent we mean business, that in turn will be reflected in ST sales.

When we dither and wait and leave it to the last minute it is easy to see why some fans feel they are being taken for a ride.

I'm surprised, if honest, that just this appointment, in isolation, has had such a positive effect on some fans ... IMHO, this is a good appointment, but in itself, isn't enough to justify to me buying a ST next year, no way. ... need a lot more promises, that have been backed by tangible actions, for me to consider that investment.

Same boat as runner. Things would need to change substantially for me and while Robins is a promising sign if he's anything like he was, I need to see a lot more to even begin to be convinced.

I had every intention to anyway.
I'm more worried about the season after. If we're not in Cov I won't be getting one, which would be gutting.

Was wondering what stunts the owners would conjure up between now and next August . as I'm sure they're aware they'd be lucky to get 3000 . MR imho is a good start though .

Not local so wouldn't buy one but to chip in...I suspect a win at Wembley, coupled with a decent run in (even if we, as expect, drop), would see quite a bit more than we might have expected say a week ago.

Which now alters my thinking somewhat.

I was always of the notion of if we are going down let's get it over and done with asap, but now I do buy into this thinking that Robins can now build momentum going into next season.

A good run now, even though us falling short, would give us some hope for next year.

I am still concerned though at how few players Robins will be left to work with for the summer.

Surely can only be a good thing? Would be worse if our squad were all on 4 year contracts and couldn't get rid.
Maybe.

Definitely some I WOULD like to keep though.

Stokes would be fantastic in League Two for instance. No way we are going to keep him is there.

Would also like to keep Beavon and Stevenson and Harries and Reilly and maybe Clarke too.

Pretty sure Harries and Stevenson will be gone.

Beavon is still contracted so would have to mean somebody wanted to buy him.
Yeah, I am sure Beavon will stay now. He's not getting any younger. We have him until the end of next season.

Totally agree and share your concerns Otis but I've been saying for a couple of weeks now that we should write this season off. If we stay up by some miracle, great but as it's highly unlikely, I wanted a new man to come in and plan for next season.

Robins can now do that. Assess who is going to be here next season, assess loans and out of contracters and see who he wants to keep. He'll then know what holes need filling (I suspect there'll be a few) and he can start working on that over the next few months so that we can act early in the transfer window and not late August like normal, when it's too late.

Well, the three of us would have got one anyway but I feel more optimistic about summer recruitment. It can't be worse than Mowbray or Slade.

I was in discussions with one of my mates about us both getting one next season. This wouldn't have any particular affect on the decision really, although I'm much happier with him in than Slade.
