So two home games against better opposition than recent fixtures, followed by a very winnable away game and 2 more winnable home games.
IF we see some good improvement and the team selection from what we have is inspired and motivated then we might see some late excitement to the season.
It's too much to expect 15 points but 11 or 12 points and a mini run could put the cat among the pigeons with other teams around us failing to win - however unlikely even I think that is.
I think we can go on an excellent run with Robins and once momentum builds that in turn breeds confidence and gives an air of invincibility.
Thing is, let's say we win 7, draw 2 and lose just 2 of the 11 games remaining, that would be an absolutely fantastic return.
It almost certainly wouldn't be anywhere near enough though.
That would give us a return of 23 points and a grand total of 49.
Just look at Oldham on 39 and Bury on 40 points. They only need 10 and 11 points to get to 50 points.
Just 10 points from 11 games, which would be a terrible return in itself, would still outdo our above scenario.
It's just not feasible. We have to look at what is needed from the teams above us. It is not just our getting to the magical 50 points for us, It has to come in conjunction with a diabolical run from the likes of those 2 teams.
As I said on another thread though, all we can do is go in baby steps. Win a game see where we are. Win another game see where we are again etc.
I honestly now think we need to win 8 out of 11 to have any chance whatsoever. Probably just 1 single defeat.
Now if we had sacked Slade 2 or 3 games ago things might have been a little different.
Fact is we could simply NOT afford to lose at Oldham or at Bury and we did both.
Still be nice to build some momentum however and have that winning run.
