In the pub before the match yesterday a group of us were discussing our favourite intros to records.A varied selection of rock/pop. Favourites were: Smoke On The Water- Deep Purple.Baker Street- Gerry Rafferty.Paranoid- Black Sabbath. Any more favourites ?

Breaking into heaven and She bangs the drum by the Stone Roses, Lonesome tonight by New Order, Start Choppin by DInosaur Jr,Kennedy by The Wedding Present and LA by the Fall are some ofmy favourites.

It's always sad when someone feels so desperate that suicide seems like the answer.
I never knew he was in turmoil as he looked a together sort of bloke.Read he had a drink problem but had been sober for years,but had started drinking again.
A mate of mine died in similar circumstances a year ago so know what a bad addiction alcoholism is.

That was when I saw them. Great venue too.
Always a big regret of mine I never got to see them live. Remember seeing footage of a gig they did (Glasgow Barrowlands I think) and the crowd going mental when In a big country started, looked a great gig.

As for the op, I would go for Lost Patrol by said band. Special mentions too for Shine on/House of Love, Love song/Simple Minds and Sir Duke/Stevie Wonder.

dire straights ..money for nothing, back in the eighties and nineties I used to test the stereos of my new cars by playing it as loud as possible
