Visiting family Portsmouth this weekend and spotted this SSU OUT sticker on the poster for the upcoming Selecter/Beat gig. Wondering if it's a local? Shame Pompy went up I was looking forward to that fixture

Oh how could I forget
Sebastian Olszar! Think he signed on loan from Portsmouth!
Was it on the Prom by any chance?
Whenever Lewis is mentioned I think back to when Ian StJohn knocked him out at Highfield Road on a Boxing Day game.Lewis was niggling the fiery Liverpool forward, but did it one time too much and the Scot delivered an uppercut a boxer would have been proud of.I liked Lewis he was a decent player for us.Brian Lewis too I think
My dad always went on about Lewis. really rated him. was this game in the old second division the year 'pool went up?Whenever Lewis is mentioned I think back to when Ian StJohn knocked him out at Highfield Road on a Boxing Day game.Lewis was niggling the fiery Liverpool forward, but did it one time too much and the Scot delivered an uppercut a boxer would have been proud of.I liked Lewis he was a decent player for us.

I was a kid stood on the Spion Kop with my dad and uncle and the ground was packed.I'm sure we were a first division side then. It was a draw 1-1 and Roger Hunt scored for them. Proper Boxing Day with snow on the pitch !My dad always went on about Lewis. really rated him. was this game in the old second division the year 'pool went up?
Checked this game out and I was right it was in 1967 and the attendance was 42,000. Gerry Baker scored for us.What a crowd at Highfield Road !My dad always went on about Lewis. really rated him. was this game in the old second division the year 'pool went up?

I remember one of my mates. A Walsall nutter (& I mean nutter!) telling me "5 coaches, 2 trains & however many cars - & they knocked shit out of every one of us!" LolSad to see us bypass each other as this is a local-ish game for me 160mile round trip . I like Pompey away . good day out .
