Coleman on TV tonight

Chris Coleman is being interviewed tonight about his backing whilst at CCFC -- some BBC Midlands Football Prograame. Just saw preview briefly... saying he never got what he was promised by the owners...

Still remember that home game against Blackpool a few years ago-even after they had a man sent off we stuck rigidly to 4-5-1, and it took them to score for us to switch to 2 up front. That game summed his style up in a nutshell...

think it is on late kick off bbc 1 at 11.05 i think, ment to be a report on CCFC and keys is on aswell

Did coleman promise the owners boring football and a bottom of the table finish.

In 2008/9 he had dann, fox, westwood, ward, tabb, gunnarsson, eastwood, turner, best.
Yet we finished 17th.

A bit more media attention never did any harm.

I think Richard keys shows how passionate he is about the sky blues on this interview, and is clearly looking to help the prospective bidders, and I think does an excellent job of it.

Its right on the bbc football home page - not just on that link. That's a great bit of press. That will hurt their shares.

This piece of wonderful PR has come from Keys's doing - you can't deny that! Handy after all eh?

We borrowed money at the start of the season against projected season ticket sales for next season. Given our dire position and almost certain relegation that will see us owing even more money as we wont get the same level of season ticket sales.
The club has been stripped bare and next year we will have only sponsorship and tv rights cash to prop us up.

quality interveiw hopefully this will make some of his doubters belive he only wants the best for the club like hoffman and just confirms that ken delued is a complete and utter :jerkit::jerkit::jerkit: and fucked it up for his own gains !!!!

Its good to have someone who in the media to voice opersition of the way Sisu are running our club and maybe this force the :jerkit: at Sisu to speed up this takeover if there is one. I thought Keyes did a good interview there and said the right things :claping hands::claping hands:

I'm not necessarily in the Richard Keys fan club, but he is someone who can reach the average football fan and champion the 'SISU out, Hoffman in' campaign. If his comments further this, good luck to him. I don't know about the level of responsibility for sacking Black and employing Reid as someone not directly involved in the Club, but he was there for the Brighton game this season.

there was a bit of bullshit about how the club was viable last season, it sure as hell wasn't and anyway that statement contradicted his opening remarks about how the club has been in a bad way for 15 years
the stuff about Delieu briefing against the last bid because he would be compromised was a bit conspiritorial, what's all that about?
he also claimed the Arena was lost without the Club, no it isn't, they could stage big Rugby games & more concerts, it wouldn't cover the hole but it would patch it up
the bit about playing games elsewhere was old nonsense too, this is Coventry City, they have to play in Coventry & the only option the Council is ever going to allow is the Richoh Arena

Also that bit about loans being taken out against next years season tickets was different to what I'd previously understood, the Cov Telegraph article linked above was only about a loan against THIS years season tickets to tide them through June/July. Where does the information about a loan on next years income come from, could a lender be so stupid as to grant one against the relegation favourites?

However most people won't analyse what he said, all they'll remember is SISU bad.. Hoffman good.. and it is VERY GOOD PUBLICITY for the prospective new owners & against SISU

The Telegraph understands the Sky Blues have effectively mortgaged next year’s season tickets and taken out a loan for £1million, secured against annual payments from the League, to enable them to pay the wage bill in June and see them through the next couple of months.


Its next seasons ticket sales plus a mil

He may not be everyone's cup of tea, and some of that expressed is conjecture and opinion as opposed to fact; however, he is a City fan and a genuine one at that and he's trying to use his stature to at least bring the club's plight to the attention of the wider footballing public.

Remember, SISU were asked to make a contribution to the programme and refused to participate, or offer comment - and therefore forfeited the opportunity of putting their case forward (if one exists). If it all ends up being a touch one-sided, and they look the rightful pantomime baddie, then so be it

I'll be watching it tonight, but I like the sound of it already.

They've made yet another PR error by declining the opportunity to talk to the BBC; and while it speaks volumes for their 'plan' for the club, you still have wonder who advises them on these matters!

Keys understanding seems no more informative than any of us quite frankly.
The fact he claims Hoffman and his bidders are still around and SISU should take the deal is ludicrous. What will that be? Another £1 written on the back of a fag packet?

Hoffman wants the Ricoh (don't we all) and without it suggest his bid will fail unless he makes that bid a sensible offer. Keys saying it takes time is a joke.....How long has Hoffman had now? What does it take to make a deal in principal for goodness sake?
It's all smoke and mirrors. I'm not drawn in by Hoffman and his cronies anymore than the current lot.

A lot depends on how much of the 'debt' SISU hold (not any bank) are willing to relinquish for the sake of getting out?
The other clear question is surrounding the Ricoh and that option but more likely Hoffman wanting more than that option from the council.
Enormous stumbling blocks.
If the council consider something more than the option then how does that make SISU feel?

The fact is with 35m of debt (owned by SISU) why would you not offer at least 10m and hope SISU will accept that rather than run into a dead end. He would acquire the the club debt free ready for capitalization.
I suspect Hoffman does not have sufficient backing to even do that without the Ricoh ownership included and part of the deal. I believe that is the likely stumbling block.
The council in their ignorance may believe they could go it alone at the Ricoh for years to come....a serious mis-judgement to make.

I love Keys' idea of threatening not to play at the Ricoh. F*ck the council if they don't want to do their bit for Coventry City. Ground's too big for us right now anyway.

Got there before me. It's not just any supposed debt it's that the club is running at a loss continuously and our assets would most likely not cover the debt and the losses, therefore how can it be worth more than a pound. Lots of clubs have done it too. I remember Pompey doing it, I think Notts County as well. The club's worthless at the moment.

The Keys interview is great PR for SOC and those who want SISU out but that is all.
There's a veiled threat (to the Council) that they'll leave the RICOH......but seeing as the GH Consortium do not even own the club - that's absurd.
