Wasps have applied to the football league to have fixture preference and to play on Saturdays.
Thought they didn't want to harm the local rugby club either?

Couldn't we play alternative Saturdays if it goes through? If the FA have to sanction it they should have to do what they can to give the least amount of disruption.
Why are they applying? Its' their stadium...I assume there is alreay some signed agreement with the EFL that stops this?
How will it impact Cov Rugby? Are their fans somehow disloyal or something?Yeah, with Astute on this. Bit of an arsey thing to do but we approach it the same as if there were two major football teams in the city...schedule them at home on alternate weekends.
Don't think this will affect the football club much. Cov Rugby on the other hand...

Certainly won't impact the current crowds at the Butts but possibly future fans as Cov rise up a league. How will it impact Cov Rugby? Are their fans somehow disloyal or something?
Not seen anything anywhere else to confirm this request to the FL either...maybe it is true, maybe it isn't?
If it is true, I would say that Wasps are just looking after their own business interests. Why would they sit in & wait to see our owners next move? They're simply too busy poncing about in Court to destruct Wasps to contribute in any positive way.
A more concerning move...

Don't know anything about this particular request other than what is in this thread but there is some background which could indicate they want to play Saturdays. They tried to move to Saturdays when they were playing in Wycomble but their fans kicked off at not being consulted. They then had a consultation and the fans were against it.Can you add any detail to this?
Does it mean their home fixtures will clash with ours?
And be on the same day as CRFC?
Quite obvious isn't it.No the two fixture lists are done separately.

It would work out better for us if we could play alternate weeks. No more them chewing the pitch up on a Friday and us playing on it the next day.
If their fixture list comes out first the FL should be able to sort something out. If ours is out first then their sporting body should sort something out....or carry on as we do now.
I'm only bothered about the days we play there. If we are already playing there any cup game would have to be on a different day. But you already know that. Looks like you are baiting me to try and start a stupid argument. Why would their sporting body bother if wasps get primacy they will not lodge a request - whose going to request a change in their fixtures?
What about the numerous cup games they play? Also if primacy is removed they could try and get other events on vacant Saturday's for them.
Football teams always have primacy on fixtures. I'm pretty certain they wanted this at Wycombe as well.

No the two fixture lists are done separately. Last season we had lots of weekends the same and wasps played those games on Sunday - the ones that didn't clash were played on Saturday - they want to reverse that
Also cup games during the season if we have a Saturday fixture that's going to be moved. Could impact 12 - 14 games.

I'm not surprised that you don't see any logic. You never do.No I just don't see your logic. The football league fixtures are out first. If wasps have primacy why will anyone from the rugby world bother if, when their fixtures come out, there is a clash?
Surely if they have any interest at all it's the other rugby club?
