Good news but wish Les Reid would tone down the articles a bit without all the sniping over what's gone on.

The contract isn't even for a full further 12 months, so we're not out of the woods by any stretch but do have a good amount of time to make alternative arrangements.

Not sure what's holding up the Wasps development, financing is my guess as planning permission was granted wasn't it?

Shows how far we've fallen that our academy is at some shithole that even a rugby club don't want. Joke club etc etc etc

Great news, academy is one of the only shining lights of this club and something we should be proud of.

I wonder if they are still talking to the school, it does give time to get something sorted there for the long term rather than being against the clock or stuck in limbo.

I do tend to trust things done like this without all of the silly PR crap so if it is Richard Stevens and others sorting it I have more faith in them!

My thoughts exactly when I read the article.
Shame we've got the owners we have because with wasps obviously struggling I think there is definitely some mutually beneficial deals to be done regarding the Ricoh.

They are losing money all over the place. Would be great if they can't kick our academy out because they're skint. Double bubble.

Imagine there are quite a few legal hurdles to go through working the school tbh

That's good news. Even if it is only a short term deal, it gives some breathing space to get a long term arrangement sorted, be that at the Higgs or Finham.

good news although it looks like something that will be an issue again come march.

but least we can stop worrying for a while now

I'm sure I read the main pitch there has already been made a Rugby pitch, is that true?

Will coincide nicely with us being kicked out of the Ricoh instead of stretching the pain out over a year!

Good news........ up until March at least.

I thought the facilities and Academy prog had to be guaranteed for a 12 month period? Although in this case not averse to some EFL/FA discretion

What happens after March, what's the long term plan?

Some breathing space at least. But everything coming to a head on all fronts mid 2018 it seems for CCFC

Am surprised that Wasps have not started building work and this suggests they wont this side of March 2018. Is it major problems as insinuated by Reid (but not explained) though, or does it simply tie in with building pool there?

Good news for now but it's anyone's guess as to what happens come March. One thing for sure is we won't have built our own and March is very specific. That makes me think that if Wasps haven't started work on their training facilities maybe CCC will be on the new Olympic pool.

Very pleased - at least it gives the Academy a little more time to be sorted out.

Is this weakness from WASPs? Are they now quaking a bit or are we (and Les) reading too much into it?

Great news for the academy in the short term - hopefully something is happening to resolve the whole accommodation issue for 18/19. I'd rather not base all hope on Wasps struggling and if after Christmas we are in the same position I'd be getting worried. However it is good news in the short term and means we keep the academy.

Not sure about some of the additional fluff in the article about Wasps. I don't know enough about their real financials to comment - although did get the impression on here that their last accounts were not that bad. Either way I'd prefer us to do well from our hard work rather than another teams demise. If they do pop and we benefit I'd take it, but I certainly wouldn't plan my strategy around it.

Wasps year end is 30 June and they have to publish the figures by 30 October so we should get an insight into their current finances in around 4 mths from now

What i would like to see from CCFC is some kind of information/commitment regarding the next couple of years. We are still in the position that we have no real idea as to the plan. Nothing has really changed other than a few months concerning the Academy, and the home ground is far from certain

Agreed OSB58, in terms of recruitment it must go against the club (in terms of being an attractive place to play) that the future beyond this season is uncertain. I really think it could be a huge dampener towards the business end of the season if we are in the hunt for promotion but under a huge cloud of uncertainty . Which would be 'as per normal' for us fans I suppose.

It shows what a positive influence Mark Robins must have based on getting a few promising signings into the club on sensible contracts.

Why are they all signing 2 year contracts and not single year's?

That's what I am getting at, certainty does not appear to be there, but sensible multi year contracts are being awarded. Mark Robins must have a very compelling pitch to get new players to sign, which I commend him for.

Good news wasps are a bunch of fucking wankers, hope we are still looking at alternatives for the future at least young lads will be playing cat 2 football this season.

Think to get players in early you have to offer longer deals or they're more likely to see what else is on offer when window opens.
Or being positive we're signing players to get us out of league 2 who might not be what is required in league1 :) so not planning on being in league 2 for too long !!

The fact they're all the same length actually worries me. I'd be more reassured if some were 3 year etc.

Suggests to me we have two years to try... whatever.

We shall see, I guess!
