Never been to Glastonbury but have been to numerous other festivals over the years. My favourite was way back in 1970 at the Bath Festival a three dayer when Led Zeppelin headlined. Also Canned Heat were on too and even though I was just a teenager I remember it being talked about as our answer to Woodstock. Also some great times at Monsters Of Rock at Donington when I saw Ozzy Osbourne,Motorhead, ACDC,and Deep Purple,and many more great acts. What festivals stand out for you ?

Went to Kings of Leon at the ricoh and both me and the Missus were Ill and had to leave before they even got on stage. Blessing in disguise really as the missus was so pissed off she entered every competition she found to see Kings of Leon the year. Won 2x weekend camping tickets to IoW in 2011. 10 year anniversary. Bloody fantastic line up. Was spoilt that year. Was our 1st year of 5 at IoW and was definitely the best!

Not been Glastonbury for some years. It's worth doing, great experience but be prepared for a long recovery time especially if it's muddy, really takes it out of you.
Been to quite a few festivals but trying to stick to smaller ones now due to my advancing years! Doing Festival No 6 this year, cracking location in Port Merrion.

Saw Iron Maiden at the NEC when I was a teenager; saw Queen in 1986 at Wembley; GNR at Wembley and Adele in Birmingham to name but a few. These really stand out to me as the best of the many I've been to.

Guns N Roses at the Olympic Stadium was an incredible gig. Was sceptical when they got back together but they blew me away.

The Stadium on the other hand is terrible. Its already showing signs of age and in places it doesn't even look like they've finished building it. Where they've reconfigured the seats you can see the scaffolding. Cramped concourses with little in the way of facilities. Getting out is a nightmare. Over an hour queuing for the tube after being forced to take a ridiculously long route to the station. It was pretty close to kicking off as people were getting frustrated, wouldn't take much for there to be a big problem there.

Remember getting a coach from Poster Place down to Wembley. Driver turned up hours late, nearly crashed on the motorway and then left so quickly after the gig finished half the people weren't on the coach!

My mate was on that coach ! He said it was a disaster getting there etc. I recall he stayed the night in London so he must have missed that coach back !

Seen Foo fighters a few times, Coldplay, Muse,Def Leppard,Kings of Leon,Oasis, to name a few who were all good particularly Muse's Drones tour at Birmingham last year. But nothing can beat Big Country in their prime for doing it live.

Was surprised by how good they were really. Like them for their early stuff, then they went all a bit over-poppy for my taste but, well, live they knew how to deliver a show.

Went to the Hummingbird club twice to watch Big Country there. What a band they were the club while only small was rocking. Also saw the Mission there and they didn't disappoint either.

I seen them in Sheffield, Nottingham twice and the Wulfrun in Wolverhampton a couple of times also. Second time was when Adamson went missing and we all know what happened after.
Think they are on in Leamington (Big Country) assembly rooms later on this year not really the same now though as only 2 of the original members left.

The best was Heavy Metal Holocaust at Port Vale. Motorhead & Ozzy Osbornes Blizzard of Ozz, followed by AC/DC with Bon Scott at Birmingham Odeon...both events just RAW music.
Rush have always impressed too.

Having said that...ask me again tomorrow & the next day etc & you may well get different answers lol

I was always a fan of smaller venues and seen a good few bands in the 90's at places like Wolverhampton Civic Hall, De Monford hall (excuse spelling) but also places like Road Menders Northampton and TIC TOC in Coventry. Most memorable from Wolverhampton was the Manic Street Preachers just as they were breaking into the big time and Saxon at the TIC TOC. From bigger venues loved the RHCP,s at The Ricoh. Only ever done one festival and that was monsters of rock at Donnington when Metallica headlined so that was pretty awesome. But my all time favourite concert was the Beastie Boys playing the round at the NEC. Probably most memorable because I only got to see them the once and I'll obviously never get to see them again now so it's a precious memory for me. For a similar reason my biggest regret is failing to go and see Pantera when I had a ticket, don't recall why I never made it there but always assumed I'd get the chance again. RIP Dimebag.

I've seen Ozzy numerous times over the years. But the one that sticks out is one at Leicester Polytechnic in the late 80's.I went with my then missus who wanted to see him as she got fed up with me going on about good he was live etc. We got in after a good few drinks in a nearby boozer and the small venue was packed. The lights flickered then on to the stage came the band with a very slow and inebriated Ozzy. After a few songs he disappeared for a few minutes then returned and just went through the motions. They received a mix applaud at the end of a shambolic performance. My missus said he was great ! She always was a cheap night out ! ☺

Once saw the Kinks circa 1980 in Aylesbury playing an afternoon gig in Aylesbury Civic Centre but they were not even in the main hall only in a smaller hall and the crowd was only about 100, they must have been right down on their luck at the time, did all the hits, fantastic.

I recall being at the Lanchester College which is now Coventry University in the 70's one night as they had a bar and concert room.I was with a group of people who dragged me along to see a band called T.Rex with a charismatic lead singer called Marc Bolan. I thought they were crap but what did I know back then !

I was 15 at the time and a massive Big Country fan, so unbeknown to me, my elder brother got me and him tickets to see them, my first ever and best gig I've been too.

Wolvo civic hall...Jameson Raid? They were a great band that only ever remained on the fringe for some reason

Lol...I saw Ozzy about 5x & only once was he incoherent when talking (Diary of a Madman tour), but still sang the songs clearly...but clearly pissed...on auto pilot...or dubbed!
Lemme was never dubbed...often got the verses wrong & tracks were usually faster than on the studio versions coz Phil Taylor was off his head lol

That concert in Leicester I heard later was the final one of a long tour for Ozzy and his band. And I also heard whether or not was true or just rumour, that at times because he was out of his head through drink/drugs etc at that time Ozzy had a double on stage ? That gig was a mess that night and the crowd were only friendly because Ozzy is a legend and let it go !

The Stone Roses comeback gig at Heston Pk, Manchester was a fantastic occasion And
Primal Scream as the support band were Brilliant.
Went to see them again (Roses) at Finsbury Pk, but felt they were a bit of an anti-climax,
Though Public Image LTD were interesting in support.
Oasis at the Ricoh were brilliant 'I thought" but some of the people I went with weren't so
Impressed, it was just before they split and I'd been on the piss all day.
"Fun Loving Criminals" at the UEA in Norwich were absolutely fantastic.
The Specials at the Ricoh Hall were disappointing, just thought the acoustics were bouncing
Around like a bag of rusty spanners, they were brilliant at Brixton Academy.
Rolling Stones at Hyde Park were phenomenal, absolutely unbelievable, how those guy's
Put in a performance like that at their age defies belief, 100 in the shade and Jagger never
Stopped dancing and singing for well over 2 hours.
I'm still not convinced they weren't stunt doubles up there.

I can't be doing with festivals, I'm not made to be outside that long. A day at Godiva is about my limit.

I saw AC/DC at Cov theatre with Bon Scot £2 it was my first gig and the gig that I judge all gigs, they were excellent. I have never seen a bad Metallica gig (7 times) and Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio and Ozzy were all brilliant. And I saw Ozzy on his first solo tour at Cov Theatre with Budgie supporting what a night!
