Lincoln-based Sky Blues? (1 Viewer)

Hi all - I am moving to Lincoln (quite literally am writing this on the train there from London!). I am sure there are some Sky Blues living in the area (Lincs Sky Blue, Astute) including some on here and I met some lads from Horncastle at the P'boro away game last season.

I would like to know if any Sky Blues, especially in Lincoln itself rather than the county generally (although that is of interest too), would be interested in sharing travel to matches or generally socialising etc.

"If so please post below or PM me. I am going to be living very near the town centre near the Bailgate, so easy to meet / pick-up etc

Hi Oucho
I live in a small village just outside Bawtry right on the Lincolnshire/South Yorks/Notts border
Lincoln city centre is about 35 minutes for me
I am not having a season ticket this year but will "do" majority of games home and away as long as there is some form of entertainment and not the dross of last season
Let me know if can ever help out with travel.
You will probably pass my way for majority of midland or northern away games and happy to share the ride.

Yes - Cov fan and Lincoln City Director nowadays though - so I'd be persuading you to get to Sincil Bank all the time...!

Strange both being in the same division - but trying to push Lincoln forward does re-iterate what a massive opportunity there is at Coventry.. Enjoy the matches and maybe see you at the Coventry - Lincoln games..

So your first post, 2.5 years after joining SBT, was in reply to me! I feel honoured!

Waddington for me, so just round the corner from you.

Manage to get to 5-6 games a season and currently in the process of brainwashing my girls to be Sky Blues (I think I'm pretty much there!). Looking forward go going to Sincil Bank. It was so nice this past few months seeing the positive atmosphere the success of the football club has had on the whole city.

BTW, Oucho, stay up the Bailgate - much better pubs up the top of town.

Ok nice one. I have a 7 seater sos we could travel in comfort! I know how important that is as used to go to games with 4 adults crammed into a Peugeot 206!!

I lived around Bailgate, decent area with a few decent pubs. Let me know how you find the Christmas market in December :)

I had to give up my season ticket when I moved as I worked weekends, I tried to get to the close away games though.

The chap who runs Lincoln City drinks around that way too if I recall.

Always wanted to visit Lincoln, but never got round to it. Reading this made me realise (again) what the Sky Blue family is all about - and how scattered we are!

I would love to see a map of Britain and Ireland with all the SBT members plotted according to their locations - mods, can this be done based on IP addresses?

I said near the Bailgate.....on the same street as the Windmill, just off Burton Road, to be precise.

Won't have an ST and won't do many home games. My situation is a bit complicated in that I will be splitting my time between London and Lincoln. It will only make sense for me to car-share with fellow Lincolnites for Saturday games. For Blackburn I am planning to dive there and back from London as am staying down in London for the few days around then so can't take you up on that one.

Nevertheless it all sounds good and I have a spacious car which could easily accommodate 4-5 adults in a comfortable way on a journey to Cov and back.

Like you I probably won't go to many home games this year but PM me which Saturday ones you think you might do, in case it makes sense to car share

I have done the Christmas market for a few years running - generally enjoy it, even if it doesn't quite justify the hype. Whereabouts did you live in Lincoln....still living in the area? Had a few jars in the Strugglers last night, great pub! Plough Boy on Burton Road...not so great but an OK local for a quick pint on way into town.

Lived in Chapel St Leonards until recently, but moved back as i couldn't stick it any longer!
What was wrong with Chapel? Went there myself a couple of times, it must be a bit bleak in winter and annoyingly busy in summer, but generally seemed like a relaxing part of the world!

Good stuff...as with Smiley and Ido, PM me the games you are keen on doing (Sat games only). If they're on my list, we can investigate further..................cheers!

Mill Road and Burton Road, yeah, I was never a fan of the plough boy. The Struggs is a great pub and in the Bail itself the Prince of Wales was decent when I left, although could be very up and down. If you like music, on a Friday, the Jolly Brewer was always half decent too.

I used to watch sport in the tower hotel, unless it was Rugby/6 nations, which was watched in the Peacock.

I used to enjoy the Market although found it a tad overcrowded.

Which one? (House I mean, not Point!). Say hi to gary in the point caff from me.
Are they making any progress on the new 'observatory' thing? It just seems to stumble on forever. Should have been finished about two years ago.
Also, I can recommend a good cheap plumber a few yards from you if you need one. Trouble is, he's from Sheffield
