So I have a scenario to bring everybody back to earth with a bump

(I am of course joking, loving life at the minute as a Cov fan)

But.......Here's the scenario, were top at Christmas, have played some good football and Mark Robins is catching the eye of let's say....Middlesborough, who have sacked their manager after finding themselves bottom half after a terrible run.....they make an approach for Mr. Robins.....does he stay or does he go ? He's got previous for jumping ship when we're playing well, we all remember the "Sky blue blood" incident.

Personally, I think he's here for the long haul, I think he's got a long term plan and I think he'll see it through.

This is all of course hypothetical, just interested to here people's opinions. And please no "Can't we just enjoy right now, pessimistic turd" etc. Just something I've been thinking about the last couple of days.

I think it is the one thing that could scupper our season, barring an absolutely horrific injury list pile up.

I too think he WOULD stay. His move last time cost him dearly.

We need stability and Robins is very much part of that stability requirement.

I don't think any championship clubs would delve into league 2 to pick a manager and I don't think Robins would leave for a league 1 or league 2 club.
I reckon he's here for the longer term.

I don't think he will leave. I doubt that Championship clubs will be sufficiently interested in him and can't see him leaving us for League 1.

He's had a full season with the club, brought in 12 players and I think we have a serious shot at automatic promotion this year. He's a good fit for the club and he's been given support for this season, so I don't see why he'd want to leave.

He's been given free reign here. The chance to build a club - not a team, but a club - top to bottom in his own image. Without wishing to sound ridiculous, he has the chance to become this generation's Jimmy Hill - innovating, changing, creating his own vision. Most managers are hamstrung by the boardroom. We don't even have a real board (a bunkbed is all it would take to host a board meeting at our place). Yes, he may be limited by the budget, but as far as I can tell, that is the only thing standing in his way.

But yeah, he would probably join Middlesboro.

Rightly or wrongly most people place their Bank Balance at the top end of their list Of prioritys, if a club
come along offering a considerable increase to his salary he will be gone, it's the nature of the game.
We may not like it but that's just the way it is, we don't get many good times at this club so best to just

That is a worry. Although I'm always pleased when he's keeping quiet the opposite side of that coin is that when he does eventually break silence it's usually a shit storm of half truth's, spin and BS and the longer the silence goes on the worse it usually is. He's timings are always impeccable too. Fully understand where your coming from, hope he does stay for a while.

Willis is the only concern. Think he is off to Bradford or Rotherham.
MR can still bring in a good CB loanee from a Prem club. We will see.

But how could that be possible if we say get promotion?

Still in League Two, then yep, maybe, but if we go up, crowds will increase. By the end of this season they would surely be 13,000 plus if we are right at the top.

How could we go up and then drop to a much smaller capacity stadium? The demand next season for tickets would be quite high.

Only thing I can see happening is sooner or later if he is successful (and I think he will be) there will come a point that he may walk away as he won't be able to take the club any further due to budget restrictions. It will then be a case of him jumping ship if Sisu don't back him and again who would blame him. Shame as it seems a nice fit at the minute.

I certainly think he's been given the resources to have a successful season this year. It's now on him to deliver this success. Based on our time in L1, we had the resources to build competitive teams that were good enough for playoffs. So I only think it'll be a problem if we ever got promoted to the championship, but that's not even worth thinking about at. Let's just get out of this league asap!
