Speaking to two Norwich City friends who both said that Maddison was MOTM against QPR last night. Comfortable on the ball, and fantastic set piece delivery, looks a real player. Be good to see him develop into a really good player. They don't think they'll have him for long, so let's hope if they're right, that we've got a healthy sell on

Do you honestly think the morons in charge of our club would have thought about something like that?
Apparently, Joy's still delighted with the coloured glass and pretty shiny pebbles she got in exchange for the precocious young home grown talented one.

Will definitely play Premier League football next season.

He has the potential to be a very good player. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the Prem within a couple of seasons.

And there's potentially better in the wings at our Acadamy coming through, an Acadamy still in limbo by the way.

He has got the potential to be very good but for me he lacks some pace for the position he plays in. Although not his fault he was sold, he holds a portion of blame for our self destruction that season for his attitude when he was loaned back to us. Swanned around like a fucking princess and the form of all those in his age group nose dived with it. Still owes us for that imo.

He'll probably end up at somewhere like Spurs who will take his game to another level.

Huge mistake bringing him back on loan, was never the same after he'd made his move.

When he does move on, it'll be interesting to see for just how much. With the ridiculous, inflated fees these days I wouldn't be surprised if it were in the region of £7m plus (assuming he begins to realise his potential over the next season or 2). How much did we sell him for in the end? £1m?

Joy said that we've got an investment in the rest of his career so I guess she means it's like the Sturridge deal where we continue to get a percentage every time he's sold to someone else or reaches certain milestones.

Where did she say that?

A very talented player, no doubt but, as has been said before, he was completely different when he 'came back' on loan.

I remember 18 months ago there was a thread about him, I think it was around the time of the Peterborough United game (the one where Henderson messed up that chance), and we were bemoaning his diving antics.

Somebody posted a brilliant cartoon-esque gif of a player doing fancy footwork, another player then just kicking the ball, before the fancy footwork player then through himself on the ground. Had me in hysterics for days. Does anybody have that gif?

I think he's a good time player. I'd happily have him while you're winning games but if you're battling against survival you wouldn't want him in your team. I'm not talking in league 2 level but if I were a Prem team trying to stay up I wouldn't take a second glance at him. So much natural talent I feel he misses out on fight and determination.

what do you know about judging a player? you said murphy was shit and he now plays in the prem.

if anything you posting is an endorsement for maddison

More than you, who said you thought we would get promoted last year. BAHAHAHAHA.

Maddison is a good player, but people harping on about him playing in the Prem are a bit premature, considering his last extended spell in adult football was quite a disappointment.

Also, Murphy hasn't had any game time yet...

i said we would challenge and believe had manager stayed we would. i will console myself with first silverware in 30 years, i knew the squad was capable after all. that trophy was won for fans like me not you.

and you have been proven to be wrong many times about many players.

shut agyei has played prem yet you ridicule those(not me btw) that said he could make it to prem

hmmmmmmmm

So, because we won the checkatrade, that means that it doesn't matter we got relegated, even though you thought we would get promoted?

So, because I have a different opinion from you, the checkatrade was not won for fans 'like me'?

So, because Agyei has been on the bench for a Prem club he is suddenly a good player? Does anyone think Agyei is good? If he was a Slade signing you would be bashing him!!

All players like him show is how we need to get back to playing at Championship level as soon as we can, never mind League 1. I do think we allowed him to leave a bit too soon and getting him back on loan was a mistake.

Not sure Aberdeen fans would agree. They loved him up there. IMO he'll play PL football, if not with Norwich then someone will take a punt on him if he holds down his starting place at Norwich this year. Attacking centre mids are hard to come by, he's worth a punt at £5M to a PL team I feel.

The thing is though, and this has the danger of opening a big can of worms, the Scottish prem is appalling quality wise. It is about League 1 standard alone (Turnbull, Bigi, O'Brien, Rose are all playing there). Given that he has just broken into the Norwich team, I think he could certainly play at a higher level, but saying he could do right now is jumping the gun just a little bit.

I was quite gobsmacked when I opened this thread.
