In my 65 years of supporting the City, I can't remember a worse league result than last night. However, my reaction is not to whinge, whine and despair, but to get behind the team. Anyone who has played sport will know that there are times that things just don't go for you - that's when you most need support. So can we please stop all this negativity. If you're a Glory Hunter then I'm afraid you picked the wrong team. See you for the Colchester game.

It doesn't bother me that we lost to Accrington or FGR, I've no shame about that and however much I hate it, I respect we are at the same level as them. A loss is a loss to me whether it's Man U or FGR. I also support the players, I genuinely think this is a good squad, strikers included. Robins however is severely testing my patience - he has to show he's thinking about who we're playing and adjust accordingly. Not talking a whole new formation every week but bringing in players like Vincenti and trying to get crosses in against opposition like FGR who are weak in the air. Players like Ponti and McNulty with better movement against the slower defenders in this league and most of all not playing two defensive midfielders against at team who let an average of 3 goals in per game.

The shitter for me was losing at home to the bottom side who have the worst defence in the division without troubling them. Doesn't matter who the team on the other side of a result like that are, there's no excuse.

i cant beleive we have 2 extremly frustrating performances at home in 2.5 months! newport and fgr,terrible and identical!

We lost to a Yeovil side that all were tonking, we lost to FGR who were bottom and we beat Exeter, Swindon and Notts County.
Since the first game Jones has scored once, McNulty the same and the rest except Nazon have scored zero.
We can't break down teams that sit back and we have no plan B, which I am sad to say is both a management and player issue.
As we are struggling to break teams down it is obvious that a change in thinking is required.
The evidence suggests we are more likely to beat Luton than beat the bottom sides.
I would go for it and risk being exposed as ultimately the result is the same. Robins is at the beginning of the sack race and although I don't want that the results put pressure on him.
We are having chances but are too timid, its time to die on our shield rather than the insipid way we are losing currently.

Something has to change though, and if change happens because loyal fans make a stand and say "were not going to accept this shit" then that has to be a positive move.
If we all just glibly tolerate garbage, then garbage is what you'll get, week in week out. Which is pretty much what you have seen for the last half a century.

We look solid defensively, if Burge had not dropped the ball into the net they would not have scored.
The system is working as we created several chances but lack a striker with any confidence or ability.

Last year our team were individually not good enough for L1, it was a horribly assembled squad. This year we are good enough for a solid play off place if not an auto spot if managed well. It's Robins system and lack of decisions that are costing us more than the players. We'd be scoring 5 against FGR with a better set up, our strikers would be confident and Burge not worrying that a single mistake will cost the team.

Yes, we have a habit of freefalling after Christmas regardless of what division we are in. New owners and investment will be easier to find if we are a football league team.

Despite the last 3 results, I don't think we are far away from a good side. If JJ and the Duck would only look up and see a player in a better position then we would not be so bloody wasteful with the ball. McN and Beavon are good runners but we need a poacher in the box if we had good wing support. The opposition penalty area seems to be a no-go zone for our strikers. So often we are on the offensive but we have 3 forwards buzzing around the wing area, not in the box. At present the only way we look like scoring is from JJ and Duck coming inside (now found out by defenders) or a set piece. So very predictable. Last night FGR left 4 on the half-way line for our corner, and didn't man mark in their box. Not saying this is good, but shows that their management team are thinking outside the box (OK, may be why they are down there). They changed their style 3/4 times during the game, something we seem unable to do.

I still don't understand the 'lets all stay away and it will be better' attitude. For me I would love to see 20,000 angry city supporter up there cheering their team on but venting their feelings about SISU. ST holders have invested their money for the year so whether they go or not isn't going to make one bit of difference to SISU financially. Equally if we have no-one turn up, do we think we will be at the Ricoh next year, probably not. Then if we ended up at a 4k Butts Park the same supporters will be spitting venom saying the club has no ambition!!

This is division 4, it is a poor side but reasonably competitive in the league.

That won't happen though, the reason our defensive record is so good is that we are massively overloaded there. At times yesterday our shape was a complete circle, hence the helipad comment on the match thread.

We have to fill that space up from midfield and we will create so many more meaningful chances each game. It's a see-saw effect and we just need to get that balance right between both. Think we have some good defenders so we're not going to suddenly start shipping 3 goals a game.
