Burge - 6 - The old burge sneaking in.
Stokes - 8 - It's the Stokes of old, has been practising his fitness and crossing.
Willis - 7 - Was a big battle for him, lost most headers but was a big challenge
McDonald - 7 - Same as Willis
Grimmer - 7 - Much better game going forward, looks fitter
Vincenti - 7 - Was having a good game, nice touches and passes and a good ball for McNulty
Bayliss - 8 - Extra point because it was his second game and he didnt stand out as a kid, drives the ball forward which we lack.
Doyle - 7 - Didn't stand out, usual Doyle but jammy as anything with the goal!
Shipley - 6 - Whipped some good crosses in
Biamou - 5 - Usually I give him higher because he holds it up, wins headers etc. Didn't do any of that today.
McNulty - 8 - Would have been 9 if he smashed that chance in, he seems to be on a different wavelength making runs. Would have liked to see him play alongside Andreu.

DKE - 5 - Didn't do much, wrong change.
Duck - 6 - Outstanding pass to put McNulty in but not much else, again he didnt look that switched on sometimes

Bit high me thinks.

Agree on Burge, but I thought Willis and McDonald had a torrid time, but then at the same time, it was so hard to defend against. Bit of a contradiction going on and hard to assess.

I hated the way Wycombe played tonight. Very hard to score the defence, but I thought Stokes was magnificent and Grimmer held his own too.

Burge 5 - Bombarded and put under pressure all night long and struggled.

Grimmer - 7 Played well and supported the attack. Pretty solid overall.

Willis - 6.5

McDonald - 6.5

Really hard to rate the pair of them, because they both made so many mistakes, but then they also did a lot right and stood their ground.

Not sure they will get as torrid a time again this season.

Stokes - 8.5. Got forwards, was solid and put some great crosses in too. Welcome back to the old Chris Stokes.

Vincent - 7. Thought he was having a good game until the injury. Shame.

Bayliss - 7. Some lovely stuff again from the lad, buy the game passed him by a lot of the time (mainly because the ball kept sailing over his head,)

Doyle -7. All action from him tonight and we really benefitted from his energy and endeavour and enthusiasm. Really put himself about.

Shipley - 6.5. A bit quieter game from him today, but again, with the long ball time and time and time again, it was hard for him to impose himself. Some good delivery from him though and a couple of lovely little flicks.

Biamou - 6. So hard to score him. He worked his socks off, led the attack well, but again didn't look like scoring. It's a real problem. Andy Morrell thought had a good game, but we just can't have someone in the team as a striker who doesn't score at all. I rate Beavon, but have said the same about him too.

McNulty - 9. Brilliant from him tonight and he did deserve a hat trick. Was a threat to the Wycombe defence all evening.

DKE - 5. Was like a rabbit in the headlights and gave away a very daft penalty. I honestly believe that Dion is much the better of the two.

Burge 6 - Caught plenty of balls tonight but don't remember him making a save. 1 customary flap.
Grimmer 7 - Looks a lot leaner than 6 months ago and had one of his better games defensively. Not afforded his usual freedom due to the combination of Nathan Tyson and Jacobson but still had a shot saved off the line.
Willis 6 - Mixed bag tonight. Covered Akinfenwa's flick ons brilliantly but also made 2 or 3 mistakes that could have been punished on another day.
McDonald 7 - Dealt with Akinfenwa as well as could be expected without ever looking dominant.
Stokes 8 - Few more performances like that and he'll be back to being a cult hero again. Defended well, got forward a lot, in the refs face, in akinfenwa's face
Shipley 7 - Got up and down tirelessly tonight and fired in some decent crosses. He's never going to be a world beater at left wing but gave Stokes the confidence to get forward and did everything asked of him.
Doyle 8 - Actually thought it was one of his better games tonight. Watched the goal 10 times and still not sure what he meant to do but his ball retention was a lot better today and didn't play as many long balls as usual.
Bayliss 7 - He's got that ability to roll or ghost past a man like Maddison had. He's a bit quicker than him but with less skill on the ball. Could have had men sent off for tackles on him and drove the team forward at times. Exciting prospect.
Vincenti 7 - Looked neat and tidy on the ball, good defensively and a lovely assist for McNulty's first. Hope he's not too badly injured.
McNulty 8.5 - Did fuck all tonight. Apart from score a great goal, win and score penalty and spurn a great chance for a hattrick by diving. In between that a few good runs and not much else. Clinical. And was still running his nuts off at the end.
Biamou 5 - Missed an absolute sitter after 5 minutes. His worst yet. I want him to come good, I really do, but he's so devoid of confidence now that he needs to sit out a couple of games and come on as sub.

DKE 5 - Just don't know what his natural position is and think that will impact his longer term career. Gave away a needless pen by getting his arms up on the shoulder of the attacker.
Duck 6.5 - Not on for long but long enough to set McNulty through 1 on 1 with a great pass, beat 3 players and have a shot saved and run up a couple of absolute blind alleys instead of retaining possession. A classic Duck cameo.

No idea how Biamou missed that chance early on. Seemed easier to score than miss.

Willis got pushed around by Akinfenwa, however Rod was much stronger.

Crazy how much of a threat he is.

He didn't just get his arms up on the shoulder though did he, according to the Wycombe press he 'hacked down' their player.

Thought the defence played well; McDonald and Willis did ok against the most physical forward they will face. Burge had a couple of scary moments but I was impressed it didn’t stop him coming for the ball. Grimmer and stokes effective at the back and going forward. Doyle quiet but effective and a fantastic if lucky strike. Baylis very assured for second game; like the way he drives with the ball. Shipley worked well but not his best game. Vincenti possibly his best game before injured. Biamou works hard but needs to take his chance. I think he and mcnulty working up a good understanding. Mcnulty now looks like a striker...his first was sublime.

Burge 6 - few drops, not great distribution
Grimmer 8 - can't believe how much he's on the ball for a right back!
McDonald 8 - did well against prob toughest striker in league
Willis 7 - nothing major but never looks as solid as mcdonald
Stokes 9 - can't think of a lot he did wrong
Baylis 8 - gets lots of stick from opposition but stands ground, very strong start to career!
Doyle 7 - great goal/cross! Just think he needed to manage game bit more
Shipley 8 - good run of games
Vincenti 8 - we simply looked better when he was on pitch, good player
McNulty 9 - 2 great finishes, good work rate
Biamou 7 - didn't score, 1 great chance but his work rate and effort is brilliant and indo think it's a matter of time, hardly as bad as some here would suggest!

DKE 5 - looked out of depth and gave away pen
Nazon 7 - prefer him as a sub, nuisance against tired players

Ref 4 - just generally shit and predictably bad

Burge 5 Bag of nerves again.
Grimmer 7 Good defending and a few forays forward.
Stokes 8 Great game going forward with some great balls in and defencivly too, maybe Haynes getting back in has embarrassed him!
Willis 6 A few mistakes but not too bad on the whole.
McDonald 7 Thought he handled it slightly better than Willis on the night.
Bayliss 7 Looked composed again on the ball but a bit nieve to receive a caution.
Shipley 7 Again made some good surges and dangerous crosses/corners in.
Doyle 7 Typical Doyle game again you know what you get with him-super goal aswell (that he didn't mean!)
Vincenti 7 Shame he went off-was doing well till that point-looked like an awkward fall?
Biamou 5 Again worked hard and had a chance early that should have been in-topped by the one 2nd half when Stokes put it on a plate for him and he completely missed the ball from about 7-8 yards out. Sometimes in a game you only get one chance and you have to make it count. Maybe needs taking out but is still part of a winning team.
McNulty 9 A goal of quality at this level that showed a finish of a confident striker on a run. Man of the match.
DKE 5 Made the referee make a decision by being silly to give away the penalty. Boy playing men's football and he sticks out like a sore thumb.
Duck 7 Spotted McNulty with an assist that should have been his hatrick. Couple of good runs when down a blind alley and jigged past 2 or 3 from an angle making the keeper work.
Davies 6 Couple of headers when needed as the bombardment continued till the end.

Harsh on Burge, apart from the drop late on I think he played well under that barage of Wimbledon of old football.

Baylis - going to be a star, does the simple things well and for once, a midfielder who faces the right way when he gets the ball.

All played well tonight and I was impressed with the workrate, they ran themselves all night to prevent to the opposition having time to put quality balls into the box.

DKE -never going to make it, move them on and free up the money for others, I like their spirit etc but not going to be quite what we need.

Mcnulty - the brilliant and the bad but for me, it's the partnership that's working well, of B can add a few goals, or just one then I think we will be threatening for the rest of the season.

Makes a big difference though when teams come to win rather than with 10 at the back as it gives us space.

Vincenti was playing some good balls forward shame he got injured DKE didnt seem to offer anything would rather have played Stevenson but we got away with a win playing 3 youngsters in midfield Mcnulty with a class finish a class penalty and shocking fuck up clear through on goal, Burge was a mixed bag dropped a couple of crosses but kicking was ok Stokes magnificent Grimmer much better game but McDonald and Willis were pulled all over the place, loved when McDonald moved Akinfenwa out the way when he tried to intimidate one of the lads, Biamou battled well but seriously needs to get a goal had a glorious chance but fluffed again really enjoyed watching the game and great result for us

Burge - 6 - looked shaky when coming for crosses and was caught in no mans land a few times. Nearly cost us a goal at the end. Shame as he was improving.

Grimmer - 7 - fairly quiet start to the game but became more involved as it progressed. Always a good outlet and happy to have the ball. Kept their strong left side quiet too.

Willis - 6 - difficult to play against Akinfenwa, but did a reasonable job. His distribution is appalling, I get that’s hes a centre back, so it’s important to clear your lines, but it’s literally hit and hope every time.

McDonald - 6.5 - seemed scared of taking a whack from Akinfenwa for the first 15/20, but seemed to grow in confidence. Both he and Willis dealt with a difficult strike force.

Stokes - 9 - brilliant. Rated him from day one, so I’m especially pleased to see him back on form. Enthusiastic to get forward and coveted the CB’s well. If it continues we have the best LB in the league back again.

Vincenti -7 - good feet as always, but seemed more involved and was doing well before the injury (which looked horrible).

Doyle -7.5 - wonder goal aside, he has a good game. He didn’t try any silly passes and stuck to his strengths. Maybe knowing the person next to him could pass helped. Constantly in the ref and the oppositions ear

Bayliss - 8 - a midfielder who can pass, looks forward and isn’t a complete lightweight. He has quiet patches, but when on the ball his passing and composure was impressive. Also pleasing to see he stood his ground despite the intimidation tactics.

Shipley - 6.5 - quiet game, but good on the ball when involved.

McNulty.- 8.5 - so pleased he’s finally coming good. Where are the critics now?

Biamou - 6.5 - missed two sitters, but worked hard and occupies defenders. He’s a good foil for McNulty. Desperately needs a goal.

DKE -5 - and that’s generous. Hate saying it but he offers zero going forward and is out of his depth. We must have a young lads

Nazon - showed the best and worst of himself in 20 minutes.

Burge 7 - came off his line a lot as we played a high line. A few moments but a fair performance.

Stokes 8 - best performance of the season by a mile. Welcome back

No 4 MR Kipling. 7 - a difficult night, wasn't tasked with Akinfenwa at set pieces. Coped quite well with the physical aspect of the game, some basic errors under pressure, exceedingly good slices tho.

Mcdonald - 7.5 had the worst job of the season in Akinfenwa at set pieces. Did the best he could with the ref being so inconsistent. Largely composed

Grimmer 7 disciplined performance, provided the correct amount of cover and attack.

Doyle 7 - a worldly of a goal, tough and tight in the middle. I'd of liked him to of been in the refs ear more like Akinfenwa was

Bayliss 7 another fine performance, will be sore today tho.

Shipley 6.5 - another steady performance from him.

Vincenti 7 - was a terrible foul on him that was the start of the ref losing the game. Good performance from Pete.

McNulty 8 - should of been a 10, great touch most the night until the main moment when the sledgehammer came out. Scoring goals tho so ssssshhhh!

Biamou 6.5 does the dirty stuff and hard parts well linking up against tough defenders yet fluffs the basics in front of goal. One day...

Subs
Davies - to late to score tho was the correct sub to see the game out.

Nazon 5 - nice pass to McNulty, more team performance tho last night which I applaud.

DKE 4 - rabbit in the headlights, poor, very silly penalty to give away. A loan spell is best. I don't see a career at the city for him unfortunately

Shows what happens when we win and play pretty well. When we lose we are all looking for someone to blame.
Or maybe telling the truth and not glossing over things?

Burge 7 Coped with the bombardment well
Grimmer 7 settling into his role better as game com
Willis and Macdonald 8 each as Burge
Stokes 8 best game this season
Doyle 8 brakes up one hell of a lot in midfield and he meant that goal little look up
Shipley7 had better games but do love his in swinging free kicks
Bayliss 9 such maturity
Vincenti 8 as Stokes
McNulty8 good goals
Biamou 6 needs to be given a rest and play in the under 23s get a goal or 2
