Hopefully that ghost has been laid to rest today, at least there is a damn good comeback if it's mentioned. It doesn't quite feel like we are the 'Sutton Utd' (for those of us a little older) becuase we are a big club languishing but none the less this is an impressive win and a 'giant killing' act.
Yes that's what it's all about.Brilliant. What a day. So pleased for my lad and all the other youngsters who until today hadn't really had that FA Cup feeling. A big PL team at home for me in the next round.

I’ve been travelling today and just got back home.
It’s a great result - I think fans really need to appreciate where the club is now and get an understanding of how massive an achievement it is for very lowly paid players to achieve such a result.
I think it’s especially great for those who are too young for the premier days. They’ll see a lot of national media discussing the club and they will see them being the main match on Match of the Day.
I hope the club gets another big game for the next round. Again it will give younger supporters a flavour of what I’ve had for the first 30 years following the club.
We would probably feel the same. That's football.Like you I didn't go to this one, as wrote it off as two hours sat in the cold watching a turgid game and inevitable defeat. Now of course I'm annoyed at myself for missing this!
Great result, fab performance by the sounds of things. I switched on Sports Report on BBC Radio 5 Live at 5pm and for the first time in years a Cov win was the first/main story - the match reporter Ian Dennis even specifically remarked that it was not a case of the Stoke players not playing for the manager, it was first and foremost a game won by Cov not thrown away by Stoke.
I did though get annoyed by some of the comments by Stoke fans which BBC radio read out such as "gutted to lose to such a small club", "losing to Coventry is an embarrasment", "terrible defeat for us, never thought we'd lose that" etc etc. Fact check guys, we may be in exile from the Prem but in our 34 years there Stoke was mostly a lower league side, and us beating them in the FA Cup would be entirely routine. Our home ground is bigger than theirs, Cov is a bigger city than Stoke and we've at least won the trophy unlike them. So although we're in a lower division we are NOT a smaller club, our history, fanbase (as shown at Wembley), ground and city are bigger than theirs. We are not a minnow and this was not a giantkilling, this was reality reasserting itself for the first time in a very long time. And all the sweeter for it.
Oh dear! :banghead:Great result, credit to players and manager. How many from CCFC academy. Let's just wait now for adage and Steve to slag off our homegrown talent...hidden agendas
Stoke historically have spent a lot of time in the top flight tbf. However, the "such a small club" comments are probably from the 15-20k dickheads who discovered them when they got promoted 10 years ago.Like you I didn't go to this one, as wrote it off as two hours sat in the cold watching a turgid game and inevitable defeat. You are joking right ?
The young Sky Blues Fans or the old fans for that matter have not had many days like this in the last 10 years .
Nice one mateAs a long time supporter of Manchester City, today shows the magic of the cup, well played guys and its great to see another team in sky blue making all the headlines (and rightly so tonight), best of luck for the draw and the next round.
Nice one SW88, followed the game in a Bathroom shop. Just about to pay but watching the SBT thread. Handing over 860 pounds was fine with news like this!
Smaller club? Really? I think even the most biased Stoke supporter would admit Coventry City are a bigger club than Stoke. Stupid statement by that stoke fan.Like you I didn't go to this one, as wrote it off as two hours sat in the cold watching a turgid game and inevitable defeat. Many supporters think that football started with their Sky subscription as a Manchester City supporter we had Newcastle fans signing that we had never won in Europe at us the other day even though if you exclude the Intertoto cup we have won a cup in europe more recently than Newcastle!Smaller club? Really? I think even the most biased Stoke supporter would admit Coventry City are a bigger club than Stoke. Stupid statement by that stoke fan.
That's what we need game in and game out 100%, blood sweat & tears. Bobby Gould would be proudBiamoi worked his socks off. Ok in my.book
Bayliss was class. All.of um were
Well put G, us older ones have had some great times ,and I do feel for the younger fans who have known nothing but abject failure.I’ve been travelling today and just got back home.

You do know we are the original skyblues don't you.As a long time supporter of Manchester City, today shows the magic of the cup, well played guys and its great to see another team in sky blue making all the headlines (and rightly so tonight), best of luck for the draw and the next round.
This is what I've always said , an empty Ricoh is like a morgue but a near full Ricoh is up there with the best.It says a lot about the effort put in by the SBA that we had that atmosphere with 14,000, absolutely phenomenal. And it’s not like the Stoke fans contributed much.
Must have transferred to the players because to a man they were amazing. PUSB

We need to find a way to get Wasps out. Cov doing well is a start. Get people away from Wasps and into Cov.This is what I've always said , an empty Ricoh is like a morgue but a near full Ricoh is up there with the best.
You get a great atmosphere when it's full.
Still need our own stadium though, or buy into the Ricoh as it's not really our home until we own some of it. That's if we stay
LOL well I won't get into that here, but thanks for the best wishes, although an obscure fact about Manchester City they only ended up playing in light blue by accident as Ardwick they wore white shirts but the washing powder gave the shirts a blue tint and the colour stuckYou do know we are the original skyblues don't you.
Have a good season make sure bloody United and Chelsea don't win the league.
Is that true?LOL well I won't get into that here, but thanks for the best wishes, although an obscure fact about Manchester City they only ended up playing in light blue by accident as Ardwick they wore white shirts but the washing powder gave the shirts a blue tint and the colour stuck
