Motor Vehicle for Robins (21 Viewers)

That may well be true, but to suggest we sack Robin's now would be nuts imo. What would that do to the team spirit everyone was euligising about a few days ago? Yesterday was very disappointing, and 2 points out of 15 against the bottom 3 may well cost us, but to panic now and change the manager could derail the whole season, open up wounds and be very divisive and distracting.
I haven't advocated sacking Robins, but he needs to do better. Something away from home just isn't right.

Finishing outwith the play-offs is unacceptable in such a God damn poor league, but horrendous injuries to our 2 best players can't be ruled out as factors in that. It took Pompey a few tries, but they were fan owned and had enough optimism around the club for people to keep going. That just does not exist with us. The mantle of worst league finish in the club's history awaits.

You need a reality check. You think we have divine right to be above this divine your deluded.Your really are laughable and a clueless fool.

Let me enlighten you mate. No one in this division don’t care about where you think we should be or how big you think we are.

We are on an equal playing field with teams. Most these teams are well run businesses who have owners who love the club. I’ve made this point yesterday when some other fool was giving it the billy big bollocks about how big we are compared to FGR.

No one gives a shit about history or reputations.

I agree , more so than you think but the question is not of them but about CCFC and why we are only 8th given our talented team , we have some great players

Indeed. The season is going as well as I genuinely expected. Bradford were down here years, Luton and Oxford dropped again. I think a season where we've not been out of the top half so far isn't too bad. There are some hysterical fools on this thread.

If I was going to disagree I’d say it’s actually going better than I thought, or should that be feared. Wouldn’t have been at all surprised if we’d struggled this season stuck in mid table looking over our shoulders.

Exactly. We don't have that optimism around the club. We have been down amongst the dead men now for many, many years and within a spiral of decline.

I think Robins recruited well though, so that gave us optimism for the season.

Still no one is giving an answer why we are 8th and others above with games in hand

inconsistency
too defensive in away games
bad luck with injuries
having a striker who has scored one league goal
lack of funds due to fans not turning up for home games
owners that don't care
no winning mentality at the club
Tim fisher is our chairman
Limited experience of league two
ricoh is seen as a ground away teams want to go to

some of all of the above

take your pick..

That’s pretty much every team though , there is something else , are we cursed ? Are we just a dog fart team destined for the gutter .

You need to show some consistency. One minute your on the band Wagon. We are doing very well etc. Finally On the way up from the bottom. Etc then after one bad game your always so negative then we win a couple and the opposite. Good job your not the manager trying to pick the players up, showing them consistency. week one game.

One things Robins and all managers in league do is not get too high when they win and too low when they lose.

Still 16 games to go.

The same chaps being so negative right now, will be same ones saying I told you so when get to play offs. Or automatic 2nd or third place.

Agree mainly but .....
The Ricoh is a fortress (at the moment)
It's not the fans fault. In fact I would say income from fans this year is above expectations.

The managers not the problem.
If the owners give you an 8th place budget then that is the target they are setting you.
If Robins finishes 8th then the owners will be happy as that was their target.
Robins and the team need to over achieve to get out of this league.

Budget size is irrelevant as you can have the biggest budget and the 24th in terms of spend. The club has a bigger wage expenditure than Accrington Stanley I am sure.

I remember saying to you in League 1 that eventually going back up from that division would restore something of a winning mentality to the club. We haven't had one good season in God knows how long and not even the most hardened base will keep putting up with it. 0/6 against FGR is the reason why we're not in the automatics right now. Everybody else has 4 or 6/6. Embarrassing.

Luton finished 4th last year just missed out on automatics and they were well clear of 5th place.

They messed up the play offs. But we’re better off for it this year. They stuck with Jones.

I really really hope we do but I am fed up of this now , I want assured success this season as we all do but I fear the worst here . A knife edge does not sum it up correctly. Here is another thing Robins will be gone if we fail playoffs minimum , quite rightly so too . If you cock it up then you deserve to go .

at last check, we had the 5th best home record. we have lost the same amount of home games as 15th placed Cambridge. The goals against is very impressive though, but we don't score enough.

Not saying that if we didn't have a decent away form we would be higher up, but "fortress" is a little over egging it.

Its away from home performances that are costing us at the moment. MR called it yesterday, we start away games way too slowly

how can you have assured success ?

I don't think he will be gone unless we have a dramatic slump. Top 10 and I think (and hope) he will still be here next season

Agree, as take high Wycombe who don’t have a reserve team , youth team set up etc. Their budget is their total first team expenditure. Their set up is fucked up completely. No proper youth structure.

It’s set up to fail. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they missed out on play offs.

They don't have the most unpopular owners in the country to keep attendances low and optimism lower. The bounce from SISU eventually fucking off would be a couple of thousand a week in itself.

Really ? Do you think that being 8th place is acceptable given we were relegated down here?

Can you explain why we are not in the top three ?
Before the season started, we were told that MR would be given a top 8 budget. Therefore, were top 8

You obviously haven't been reading my posts. I have been consistent all season long and have always maintained we will be top three. Not at all on the band wagon.

It's only on the back of the last two defeats where we have been expected to win after having very positive results previously that I have now swayed.

Not at all a band wagon jumper, but we can't have a couple of great wins, plus beat two higher opposition teams and then lose and be second best all game to a team at the bottom of League Two and it's been happening all season. It is simply not acceptable.

Our away form is poor and and our away form at the teams at the bottom has been pathetic.

Sadly, I think we'll fall short this year. Generally speaking, no team that loses more than 13 games goes up automatically. We've lost 10 already, and we're just too inconsistent to think we won't lose at least another 3 games between now and the end of the season. Play-offs is very possible though, but that's a lottery. We just have keep going and if it doesn't happen, learn from our mistakes and go again.
