Where does it leave the Tory MP parliamentary debate? It's a bit of a moot issue for the minute isn't it

Another year of them winning bugger all (which looks likely) might say otherwise...
Regardless of SISU's actions it'd still be a PR disaster for Wasps if there was any perception that they have forced CCFC out. Also, regardless of the value of the annual rent (non disclosed), the impact of losing a minimum of 23 events a year isn't something to be taken lightly. There are only so many alternative uses for the stadium bowl and exhibition hall.

This is the bit is the bit to worry about given our owners, if no alternative site becomes apparent

“It is widely known that there are obstacles – in the form of the current legal proceedings – which stand in the way of a longer-term agreement

“We believe it is important for all parties concerned that we clarify at this stage that, unless those obstacles have been overcome by the time those discussions for the 2019/20 season would normally commence, then, regrettably, we will not be in a position to enter such discussions.”

Seems Wasps have drawn the line. Somewhere around the end of 2018.

PR damage can be transitory, people tend to have short memories and would CCFC not playing at the Ricoh (a) hurt Wasps financially much (b) worry rugby/wasps fans (c) be quickly forgotten (d) be spun as all SISU's fault (e) be buried by other news in 2020.

Could the stadium be used for events more profitable to Wasps than the CCFC games ...... not sure they make much profit from them as they stand now

Worrying

Yes agreed that part is worrying! means they let it go this this year! but next year if the legals havnt stopped there wont be any more negotiations!

What events realistically and at the same frequency?

I personally think their sole reason for drawing the line would be an untenable relationship due to the court action, even if it meant a potential hit to turnover. That's fair enough. If it was the other way around I would expect CCFC to do the same

Whilst there is mediation about to start it would have been tactically unsound for wasps to take a hard stance this year. They have to demonstrate to the courts they have taken every reasonable step to resolve this matter. They (wasps) really had little choice other than to extend the deal 12 months.

CCFC had little choice but to accept it. This still leaves the CCFC financially at risk, revisits where we are playing over and over for the next year, and a problem club to the EFL

Interesting that one Coventry paper quotes NDA's whilst the other quotes details from club sources

The first story is the club's own statement on the website. Not sure if they steer the aggressive tone of Les Reid's stories or whether that's Les himself.

Hopefully the press releases regarding this deal and the huge difference in tone will be a wake up call for our supporters. OSB has already highlighted the most relevant part.

There you have it, by Wasps own admission, they will quite happily kick us out despite the assurances from CCC at the time of the ACL sale that a condition was no negative impact on the football club.

I wonder if our league position played a part in just the one year.

I can imagine Wasps thinking ‘well if they get up, we can renegotiate on more favourable terms for ourselves when they have more revenue coming in and are on the up’.

On top of dropping the legals obvs...

Well if they make little profit from the CCFC matches ...... 100K rent, a 15% split of the F&B (profit split 50:50) which will not be a lot, car parking which they franchised out I believe and maybe a margin on the match day costs it is not going to be big net figures to replace - they lose turnover but also lose a lot of cost too. I doubt the profit on CCFC gets to 250k. There would be other events could be staged in the arena, it is not about the numbers or frequency but the profitability. One example would be rooms in the hotel being let more often would contribute.

Christ, Eastwood is straight on the PR

"its been a big ask of us"
"we dont want to see the football club disadvantaged"
If the language Wasps are throwing about regarding this one year deal doesn't act as a call to arms for our fans then nothing will.

Boddy is on now

Been hard work, pleased to have got to it
Thanks for patience
Sorry for the delay but nobody could talk about it
Thinks dragged on for longer than we thought, apologies for the lack of information
It was quite complex, issues over primacy of fixtures and a lot of issues
Cant talk about too much
Finally got it over the line earlier this week
In terms of what the club gets its exactly the same
Opportunity with things on the field and decent marketing to make money
Relationship with the 2 clubs is actually excellent
Lots of things we can do to improve the football club (and with wasps like the evening with events)
Legal issues beyond and above him, no involvement at all, beyond control
If its still going on will see what it brings
Concentrating on positives, football matters starting tomorrow
Accrington are best team he has seen so far, need to get that right
need to get right what we do as a club
Matters above will take care of themselves
The comment that Nick has made is clearly there for all to be seen, he isn't in a position to be able to comment
He is there to comment and celebrate whats going on tomorrow and the news of an extension
New Stadium has always been an ambition, but as a football club they need to take stock and see what can be done when it comes
Wants to develop the best relationship with Wasps as best possible, they get on well on a day to day basis and will work on that
He is there to run the club to the best of his ability, he has no control over legal action etc. His job is to make the best of the football club as he can
Looking at over 28,000 for tomorrow
Chance that overnight it will be a sell out, available on the day if any left
Advise people to get there earlier with such a big crowd
City fans are notoriously late

He came across quite well, feel much more comfortable with him doing this sort of thing than Fisher.

Wonder if the FL have finally put their foot down?
Legal issues beyond and above him, no involvement at all, beyond control
Thats the key point. You've got Wasps saying drop the legals or we kick you out yet nobody that's actually running the club has any say over that. We all know that decision lies with Sepalla.
City fans are notoriously late
And then moan about missing kick off!

His track record when he came here was appalling but he seems to have done everything we could have asked since he's been here in what can't be easy circumstances.

Worrying stuff. I think no matter how bad the CCFC and ACL/CCC relationship got, they should’ve ‘safeguarded’ one half of the stadium for when CCFC were finally ‘fit’ to buy a share in the RICOH.

Allowing another independent rugby club purchase the whole ground, puts the future of the club at risk. Wasps and CCFC have competing interests and Wasps have all of the real power.
