Not sure who to blame (definitely not children this time), but I missed the first half.

We were actually pretty good on the whole.

Fuck me, You went all the to Exeter and couldn’t get in, only managed to see half of the colchester game, Why have you become so unlucky? Mind you some would say you were lucky only having to watch 45 minutes!!!

Some would say we are ALL unlucky in our somehow finding ourselves in the unfortunate position of being Coventry City fans.

I missed the first fifteen minutes of the game due to a particularly ancient satnav not having details of the Western Homes Stadium and so sending me on a tour of scenic Colchester. I decided to park at the stadium when I eventually got there only to find I had left my wallet behind in North Warwickshire and couldn’t pay the £6 fee. ( I actually got home at 1.30 in the morning due to a kindly petrol station attendant in Stansted allowing me to fill the car with the promise I would send him a cheque for the cost of the fuel).
When I got in I heard a chap on his phone telling his mate at home that we had played well for the first quarter of an hour. Well as soon as I got in it all went wrong. We were totally useless in that first half.
I never agree with abusing players but I have to say that Peter Vincenti’s display for the half hour I saw him play in the first half and the first ten minutes of the second half was abject. After falling over in a promising attacking position right in front of the away support and putting the ball out, he recieved dogs abuse. After that he was transformed and was perhaps the most influential player in our much improved second half performance. Maybe he should be abused at the start of every game? After the abuse, the ironic cheers when he made a few tackles, he did have his name chanted in a genuine manner later in the half. I can’t imagine how awful it must be to recieve that level of abuse, at that close quarters as you try to do your job. If I had a few hundred people watching me teach and shouting at me how crap I was as I tried to do my job I think my ability to do the job would quickly disintegrate. Apparently it inspires Peter.
