It certainly looks that the wheels might be coming off the Wasps project a little, could that make the Ricoh up for grabs ? doubt it but does ccfc become a more viable acquisition if the stadium or a decent. share of it was gettable.

Slightly off topic.. I have one of my old City shirts hanging up in the garden shed. Last week I found a wasps nest inside the shirt. Does this count as irony?

If Wasps renegé on their deal with CCC, I'd imagine the boot will be firmly on SISU's foot. That is, of course, unless they go do something totally stupid. As if......

I've actually fallen out with quite a few old friends over Wasps

I went to Henrys and the place was packed full of rugby guys, football was the minority sport. They were always down at Coundon Road until Cov rugby club went down the tubes badly, then in the last couple of years they've posted pics of themselves all decked out in yellow & black, Wasps tops, the full works- posting about player selections and the like, as if they have always been in the city- "the city needs a winning team" etc

I've told them all they are a fucking joke- they have NOTHING in common with Wasps, they have a local club that they disowned on their doorstep, and as far as I'm concerned they look like idiots suddenly pretending they are die hard Wasps fanatics. Whether you're a CCFC fan or a Cov Rugby fan thats fine, if you lose interest then fine, but what you don't do is totally abandon your club and start supporting someone else- that would be like thousands of us rocking up at Villa Park soon as we got relegated. Its the lowest of the low. They don't take too kindly to it!

Far as I'm concerned Wasps are the absolute pits and those in Cov who suddenly started supporting them are JUST as bad.

One thing that certainly doesn’t bother me is wasps leaving , infact I’ve thought about it in a very positive way for quite some time

I have no clue how the interminable set of deal/ agreements/ claims would unwind on the Ricoh but I'm guessing SISU would have a very big decision to make

Surely the prospect of eventually getting their grubby mits on the Ricoh is the only reason Sisu are still around? If Wasps did suddenly do one i don't think Sisu would hesitate to try and buy it. Whether they would be allowed to is another matter.

Despite my wishes, I can't see Wasps heading back to London, for the simple fact that they have such a large bond scheme to cover. The only thing I can do is to sell their lease to someone else.

Im pretty sure if we were owned by anyone other than Sisu they would be open to selling half of the lease to us. It's just that no one wants to get involved with them and rightly so.

But if someone bought it they would have to take on the massive bond debt. And taking it over would have to be agreed.

It was bad enough before with a bank debt of much less that Wasps took on.

The ground as an entity itself is turning into a huge poison chalice for whoever goes near it- christ knows how anyone starts to unravel the various things going on connected to it.

Take the whole SISU stuff out of the way, I know thats the problem, and my dream scenario would be for us to forge strong links with Cov Rugby club, even have one overall company if you like- share a ground, grow both clubs, then Wasps are financially stricken to the point they have to leave with their wings between their legs to wherever else they think they'll get a few 'corporate audience members' to support them. Darlington would be great, they've got a big ground rotting away.

That kind of thing works everywhere else in Europe where cities have their clubs joined up, why can't we give it a crack?

I know absolutely nothing about Wasps - what division they're in, whether the play league or union rugby, whereabouts they are in their league, are they any good etc, etc... I have ZERO interest in them and never will!

I've been in the same situation with a few people that I know including some close family and one friend who was quite close to me up until a year or so ago.

This causes arguments because no matter what way you try and tart it up, it is completely indefensible to be a CCFC fan and support Wasps. The two things go together a bit like George Soros and the Holocaust. He comes from a family of Jews but sold other Jews out to the Nazi's to make money.

Ok, maybe I've got a bit carried away there, but the point still stands. You cannot be a local fan supporting your club which has been moved around like the local slag and then get mad at the owners, only to then jump on the Wasps bandwagon when they do the same things to their fans, with the added spice that they also stole a stadium intended for another club (us), aided by the council. Then you have the CRFC being shafted on top of this too.

It's a traitorous act and I've heard many principled people who have turned to the darkside say things like 'I just wanted to see Premiership Rugby'. These people were the same people that were telling the Man Utd supporters to jog on when they were giving them shit back in secondary school.

It's really shameful, and I'm so glad CRFC got promoted this year. They've been dealt a shit hand by all this. I certainly think part of the reason more people are going to watch them is to give a middle finger up to Wasps. I cannot stand them and I hope they leave.

Nobody will ever make the Ricoh work with all that debt attached. We'd be mad to buy into a half share with Wasps knowing full well that £35M is due to be paid back in a few years and the stadium is the security.

It's a Lego stadium. If Wasps therefore left would they take the stadium with them.

It was just a joke on that being the stadium and that being an aerial view of the stadium, rather than a photo of a model of the stadium
