Civic reception (7 Viewers)

Agree with that. Would be fabulous to share this with the CRFC boys - the two true clubs who represent this city’s sporting heritage. And not a franchise insect in sight. Doubt that Cov City Council would be happy with that mind you..........

Whatever the league or perceived level, let’s celebrate a great effort by both of our true sporting teams.

Only problem I can see is that the rugger buggers have all probably buggered off on their holidays.

At this rate, the players aren't going to get much of a Summer break , to recover from their exertions. By the time they've arranged this, it'll only be about a fortnight until pre-season training starts!

Forgive the grouchiness, but doesn't the timing of this parade for finishing sixth in the bottom division mean all that'll happen is people'll be held up on their way home from work?

Its not like we even won the league 2 title and were going to be treated to an open top bus civic reception.
Sorry but does'nt this sound just a little over the top!!!
Im as pleased as anyone else that we won the play off final but this is pathetic.

Sorry, but doesn't 'pathetic' sound just a little bit over the top?

We got promoted, didn't we?

That should be celebrated. If they want to parade the trophy around, bring people out of their houses and bring smiles and a feelgood factor to fans and families' faces, I can't see how that's in anyway a bad thing.

If I can be there I'll be there.

I don't think so.

Let's face it. What else have we had to celebrate as a club lately? We may have won a trophy last year but this is a lot bigger. It should be celebrated. We don't get many chances.

Yes but we got a cup for finishing 6th.
Did 3rd place get anything other then promotion?
Probably a smaller cup then ours not worth parading. :)

Off down to Essex for a couple of days in the morning, I would be there if I could, we should celebrate this, there is nothing to be ashamed of in getting promotion, we haven't been a top flight club for a long time now and celebrating this promotion is a realisation of that fact.
It just might be the dawning of a new era to rival the Jimmy Hill years, long overdue in my mind.

Start rumours of half price beer at 'Spoons in the City centre and it'll ensure a bigger turnout - in fact, I've just been told that rumour is true - half price beer from 5pm onwards
