Unsung hero of the past couple of months!
Wasn’t he signed as a ‘development’ player?

Does the dirty work
Never going to be a flashy sort
Last three games has never been my man of the match, but if I was to pick a man of all 3 I would pick him!
Steady Eddie, should be very proud of himself.
Is he 20?Hyam is possibly the find of the season.

Which shows good character and attitude. Fair play to him.I seem to remember he had a poor game against Yeovil's fast, skilful forwards. Got dropped for a bit then came back better.
He developed well
Not about Hyam, who certainly bounced back from that dreadful game he (and the rest of the defence) had against Yeovil, but in response to the underlined comment - what if you buy 37 year olds, at the end of their career, who have been let go after helping their team to win promotion?Same with Biamou. If you buy players at the end of their lifespan, like Beavon, then they are unlikely to make any significant strides forward. But if you take a chance on these gems that Robins and co have found then you can unlock some serious gains... so they must be being coached well!
He's 22 - will be 23 in DecemberIs he 20?

Wonder how his contract negotiations are going....
I think the fact that we know he is in negotiations means they are going well. We must be in discussions with several other players who only have one season left to run but Hyam is the only one officially announced as being "in negotiation". I take that to mean that it's pretty much a done deal already.
Good point, hopefully that's the clubs' way of saying that there shouldn't be any road bumps in the negotiation process unless Hyam does a 180 and asks for double his salary. Well I'd like to think we're talking to more players than just Hyam given that 90% of our squad must be out of contract next summer!
McNulty obviously, Shipley i would imagine is due a wage rise having established himself in the first team. Bayliss to at least see if hes willing to stay and/or get him on a better contract ahead of a sale in January/Summer 2019. Kelly would be another one i'd guess. Biamou possibly, if hes still on a low wage having come from non-league?
I think contracts will initially be on the table for McNulty, Shipley, Grimmer, Willis, Kelly, Davies. Any others will be spread out throughout the season as our fringe players will need to prove that they can cope in League One. I'd be shocked if Bayliss accepted a new contract tying himself to the club long term given the interest from Derby, but stranger things have happened in football. But that saying, I'm sure Robins will have had or will have a word with him regarding where he sees his future lying.
Only real thing against him is lack of pace[/
Which I think why is best partner is Willis
Bayliss is contracted till 2020 anyway. Not unusual for a player in demand to sign a new contract that doesn't extend the length of stay but improves the terms as it then strengthens our hand when negotiating a sale.
Nature of the beast. If another league one team or a champ team offer him lots more money then that'll be it unfortunately.I’m dreadfully worried abt McNulty moving on. His first tweet for a week after the final said
“What a season!! Signed with this club to get promoted! And we did it!!! Thanks to all the fans for the backing home and away all season⚽️“
All v positive but I’m afraid I read it as job done, so long and thanks for all the fish.
