According to the New Testament it was the Jews, not the Romans, who were primarily to blame for the death of Jesus. Hence all the subsequent Jew hatred.

He was trialed and sentenced by Pontius Pilate who was a Roman and governed the region under emperor Tiberius. It was the Romans. Pilate also persecuted the Samaritans despite the Romans apparently never forcing their will on anyone while conquering them. Maybe they were subcontractors. They were only their to build roads and sewers.

Ha ha ha. Us “lefties” would do exactly what we’re doing now. Standing up for what’s right. The righties on the other hand would be thinking Hitler has a point and telling us “lefties” that we’re fighting for the wrong side.

LOL, you're bonkers. The Romans invaded everywhere, what they did not do is force the existing populations to change their religion and they brought many economic benefits with them as the ruins of a once great civilisation all over the Middle East testify.

The Crusades by the way were a reaction to Islamic aggression. There were far more campaigns launched by Muslim leaders against Christian Kingdoms than the converse.
What did the Romans ever do for us?

No they are not accurate at least in terms of the described miracles (eg resurrection, walking on water). However, the Jew hatred found in the writings of the Apostle Paul did significantly affect the attitudes of Christians towards Jews for the past 2,000 years. That's a historical fact. If in doubt just check out Martin Luther's attitude towards the Jews and the way he quoted the Bible to support that hatred. No flip flopping from me but nice try.

It wasn’t a leftie who started this thread under a thin guise to really moan about how Tommy Robinson is being treated in prison based on “information” that’s so unfactual and fabricated it can only be described as a hoax. Boo hoo hoo, poor Tommy Robinson has been sent down for a crime he confessed to and it turns out prison isn’t a holiday camp, if anything happens to him it will be everyone else’s fault but his own. Do me a favour.

As I flippantly suggested on here a few weeks back, was Jesus an antisemite
Or more flippantly did the Jews see him as a modern day Palestinian .
Genuinely haven't read enough to know
and hope my ignorance isn't enough to be Arrested.
But I can see some parallels .

In the terms of today where everybody is yes. As a Jew I’m not sure he was anti Jewish
Thanks Pete as I'm not sure ,although It seems many learned folk seem to suggest the New testement version as responsible, certainly post Second World War .

Jesus didn’t write any books of the New Testament and there is no evidence he was anti Semitic. The books were written by early Christians writing in Greek and Paul who was anti Semitic contributed most of the books.

Yeah that's what I read in some of those studies
Seems the translation is in question.
