France & Belgium have been the best 2 teams at the comp, then behind them Croatia, Uruguay, Brazil and probably Russia if we are talking about likely to win games!

Belgium had a good tournament but they only really beat Brazil. France beat Uruguay, Argentina, Belgium and Croatia. They've had to adapt their style of play in most games and have played a reactive style of football. I was sceptical about them coming into the tournament but they've performed while most of the others flopped.

The talk and reason I backed them coming in was that they were the best 11 in the comp but had the standard French internal explosion potential and DD not very popular but seems to have all clicked and stayed steady for them!

Croatia have showed themselves to be a better team than we thought they were. France are solid and have Mbappe. They have had some luck today - on another day, Croatia may well have beaten them.

Indeed and I do think England could have beaten them too.

If you honestly think England could have beaten them you are bonkers.

They were the best team in the competition by some distance

Ha. Clueless!

There have never ever been any shocks in football then. Is that what you are saying? The much better team always, always wins?

Ha. What a total nonsense. There are shocks and surprises throughout football year in, year out.

Are you trying to say a League Two team never ever beats a Premier team?

Okay.

But that’s not what you said. You said there was a good chance England could have beaten them - not a 1 in 100 freak

An African team has won their first World Cup.
15 of France's 23 man squad are of African heritage (BBC).
France's Africans are far better than England's Africans or Belgium's Africans.
Croatia did not colonise any African countries.

It was an entertaining game, France would have crucified England.
My favourite part was Lloris' mistake in allowing Mandzucic to score.
Pogba and Mbappe's goals were two of the best in the tournament.
After looking at Mandzukic and Griezmann, Kane in comparison is far from world class, but he somehow wins the Golden Boot. Personally I think he should get a lead boot.

Stop twisting things.

I have said England could beat them. We could easily have beaten Croatia (should have maybe been 3-0 up) and Croatia could have beaten France today.

I have said time and time again England would need luck (3 goals today were lucky) and for France to not play well.

Of course we could have beaten them

And you have quoted me saying 'England could have beaten them '
