I was over in Stratford yesterday, re: son's end of year assembly, and called into Waterstones Book shop to kill 10 minutes. Just about to leave, when I glanced at an old bloke in a flat cap and thought 'I know him from somewhere'. Whispered to my wife - 'isn't that an actor?', then realised it was the caretaker from Harry Potter, and Game of Thrones actor, David Bradley. 10 years ago, a lady looked down at my son (aged 2) and said 'Cool Shades' to him - I then gawped at a lovely looking Michaela Strachan (not a bit interested in me!) Still can't beat my brother playing pool with George Best, though!

Who have you bumped into ? We must have a collection between us.

As a young whippersnapper of 19 me and a bunch of my mates, bumped into Jean Paul Vaultier outside of Manumission at about 7 AM in the morning. On the same holiday I bumped into Edith Bowman on the stairs at Pacha. Bumped into Rik Mayall before seeing him that evening in a Bottom Live show. The most comical has to be crossing a road in London, look at a guy on a bike and wearing a cycle helmet, do a double take and it was Boris Johnson, looking rather sheepish.

Was it Gaultier, or a bloke like him who could jump higher?

Bumped into Fabrice Muamba and Damien Lewis on the same day in London.
Muamba was really decent. Damien Lewis was ignorant as hell.

Outside of sports people, Holly Valance at some traffic lights in Melbourne.
Stood about 10 feet away my mate goes “she looks well like Holly Valance!” At which point this short bloke (who after a google afterwards we realised was her husband who’s in property and worth £1.5billion) pumped out his chest and two other guys plain clothes security took a step nearer us, she laughed and smiled!

Arthur Haynes (Older posters will remember him!)
Freddie Starr
Diana Rigg
Lenny Henry
Dave Dee (From Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich)
Robert Plant
Jimmy Page
Simon Bates (when he was with Radio 1)
There’s probably a few more, but these are most of the ones I’ve actually spoken to. All, (with the exception of Arthur Haynes, Lenny Henry & Freddie Starr,) were quite happy to have a quick chat. Nicest of all these was Diana Rigg. Such a nice lady. Extremely pleasant!

Damon Albarn bought me a lunchtime pint once in a virtually empty pub in Camden town.......I think I may have mentioned that before :)

I once got "stage fright" at the urinal when I suddenly realised I was pissing (or not) next to David Soul..........a bizarre involuntary reaction, that one.

Helped a mate at university record aberystwyth town vs some random welsh team for one of his projects. John Hartson was a pundit for it and came spoke to us for the 2nd half and had a pint after the match. Had plenty to say and was a pleasure to chat to. My mate was a reading fan and this was about the time they had just signed Jay Tabb so he had no interest in ol'hartson.

Billy Ocean at that hipster services in Cumbria on the way back from Scotland two years ago. Didn't approach him as part of me thought at the time it might actually Eddy Grant and I didn't want to seem like a big racist.

Bret the hitman hart and bam bam bigolo were on a flight to Vancouver with us many years ago
I loved the Hitman, proper jealous of this

About 15 years ago playing for my 5 a side team in our local league, opposition turned up who were pretty decent as we'd played them before. Only this time they had Lee Carsley playing for them, safe to say we were well beaten that game.

Boris Johnson - 3 times!
Lemmy
Ronnie Dio
Gareth Malone
Magnus Hedman - drank in the same pub (actually met a few Cov players so they don't really count)
Neil Ruddock - top bloke, and large
Sean Dyche - lived round the corner from me in Kettering when we were kids,- he was short and fat back then, but a good footballer bizarrely enough went to the same school (his brother was in my year)

My sister had lunch with Noel Gallagher a couple of times - he asked if he could share a table in a London cafe. Nice guy apparently

It was at the height of his powers and they just strolled trough Heathrow airport no need for sunglasses etc as bam bam s tattooed head gave them away, my brother had his wwf magazine with him and on the front page was Brett so we got that signed.

My mum got a hug from Muhammad Ali when he came to Coventry

I agree about Neil Ruddock! Bloody huge but really nice guy! We took a few of our service users to Anfield for the day and met "Razor" Ruddock. He took time out to come over to pose for a photo with me, my mate and a few clients of ours (who have learning disabilities). Can't show their faces for legal reasons. (That's me under Razor's arm!) This was around 1994, so 24 years ago. (I'm all grey now!)

Saw Dion a few years back in Stratford - have seen Quentin Wilson in Warwick a few times (courtesy of my wife, who seems to have a knack of bumping into him - secret stalker!)

Robert Plant at Knebworth. He walked past me (the day before the concert) and I just called out, "Oi Robert, give us a wave". He smiled, lifted his bottle of water and just said "Alright Mate?"

I went to the doctors and told him I keep going up to people and telling them how I've met Muhammed Ali, Brian Clough, Richard Burton, Billy Connolly and Michael Caine.
He said it sounds like the early stages of Parkinsons.

Hatton in Vegas the day after the Mayweather fight.

Jack from Lost in the casino before the above fight.

Michael Gomez in a boozer in Manchester before the Hatton/Tszyu fight.

Finchy from The Office in the Hilton in Sofia.

Dave Bennett in the Devon.

It all nearly kicked off with John Hartson and Carlton Palmer one night after Jumping Jacks.

Vito from the Sopranos in New York before the Sopranos Tour.

Zoe Ball in a snowy Leeds the day before New Years Eve in the early 2000’s.

Peter Ndlovu outside KFC at the Forum.

Israel Zuniga (no lie) beeped at us and waved when he drove past the Rose and Crown before we were heading up the match and we were shouting at him.

Pretty much all A-list you’ll agree.

Through work I’ve met quite a few interesting people. Elsewhere I had a chat with Dion (he is fookin massive) last week in Moscow. A few years ago a bloke started talking to me. He asked me what I was listening to and said he used to be in a band but I wouldn’t have heard of him. It was Les McKeown. Once sat next to Will Ferrell on a plane. He was one of the funniest blokes I’ve ever met.

Troy! Lovely fella!

EDIT: This has reminded me of a life step. Was doing a bit goafering for Alstar in WSB when I was younger. We were sat in the hospitality unit when a group of fans walked up asking for photos and autographs. Troy stood up said “hold this” and dumped Kelisa (his baby daughter) into my arms. I must’ve sat there for well over an hour with her. That was the first time I ever changed a nappy!
