Team when everybody is fit

Burge
Grimmer Willis Davis Mason
Thomas Baylis Ogogo Jones
Babayako. New No 10

Subs from Shipley. Doyle. Sterling Hyam Brown Kelly Obrien. Biamou JCH Hywali Ponti.

Strong squad.

I think Robins is hoping Andreu is the one to slot next to the strike.

Just can't see him trusting Bayliss alongside Ogogo. Bayliss likes to get forward and would leave Ogogo with a lot of work to do.

O Brien 5 - Distribution is terrible, has no control over his area, only thing that was decent was the save from Lameiras. Get Burge back in as he is the lesser of two evils.

Sterling 5 - Looked dodgy in the summer for England, has done nothing to impress me so far. Think Grimmer has been very hard done by.

Hyam 7- Solid as usual, looked worse second half as Taylor won every header when he came on.

Willis 7 - Same as Hyam.

Mason 6 - Touch and distribution need a lot of work. At the minute I think a fully fit Brown would be the better option. Plenty of time to develop.

Doyle 7 - Might be getting on a bit, but still a leader on the pitch. Useful for the younger lads to have him by their side.

Ogogo 8 - This guy is solid. Full blooded battles for every ball. Lovely to see. Passing could be slightly better however that isnt what he is in the side for.

Andreu 6 - Looked leggy today, its going to take time.

Bayliss 8 - The creative spark again, always looks forward and will run at the opposition.

Hiwula 3 - Where do I start, no positional awareness, spent all of the first half stood in the centre circle leaving Mason with no width going forward and being overwhelmed defensively. Good run for the penalty (Not convinced it was but havent seen replay yet)

Bakayoko 6 - Battering ram, some good runs into the channel. Took penalty very well.

Subs.

Shipley 7 - Fresh legs, looked dangerous, would definitely start ahead of Hiwula out wide. Another who can feel hard done by.

Thomas 8 - Breath of fresh air, great runs and trickery that could have led to a couple of goals. Excited to see more from him.

Biamou 1 - Rating purely based on the fact that I forgot he came on.

O'Brien - 7. Some good saves and commanded his box better than I've seen from him previously. Distribution still needs work... thank goodness Oggy is his coach

Sterling - 6. Better today, but still looks uncomfortable at times. Worth keeping in the team based on a better performance.

Mason - 6. Lots of the ball in their half, but did little with it. Perhaps a bit isolated but seemed overly cautious when he could have beat his man. Fairly solid defensively.

Willis - 7. Solid display, the defence seems much more solid with him in the mix. Beaten a few times aerialy.

Hyam - 8. Solid defensively and excellent distribution at times today.

Ogogo - 6. Won the ball and recycled it well, but needs to offer more going forward.

Doyle - 8. Excellent today, a true captain's performance. Won the ball well, and far more positive with his passing. Where would that volley have ended up going?

Hiwula - 7. Good first half, driving at his man and showing some excellent touches plus won the penalty. Not as influential in the second half.

Bayliss - 7. Did well but need more end product from him. Looks at his best when more central.

Andreu - 6. Quiet today despite some good touches. Clearly a talented player and still early days after a long injury layoff.

Bakayoko - 7. Battled well, winning the ball in the air and making runs in behind. On another day the ball drops more kindly and he bags another goal.

Subs:

Biamou - 4. Not his best performance, seemed a bit out of sorts and made a few poor decisions.

Shipley - 6. Made a difference, but should have scored.

Thomas - 6. Showed some good feet and looks a good addition.

I think we have to play Sterling in so many games or we get fined by Chelsea. I know it's only 3 games gone but how can MR believe Sterling is better than Grimmer.
It would be a very naive move on our part if true to sign up to such a deal-nobody is entitled to an automatic place. But you do have to wonder, as clearly he isn't ready to be starting every game yet that is what he's doing. Maybe when Robins alluded to saving a bit of money for Christmas, this fine is what he meant?!? Wonder how much it would be, might be worth the cost?

I thought Bayliss palyed well and looked our most dangerous player. I also thought Hiwula played well too.

Agree on Biamou, though. I like him, but he was very poor when he came on today.

Agreed Biamou was not good when he came on today. Usually very good.

I didnt understand the near standing ovation for biamou when he came on. He has done little so far this season yet is treated like a king and yet bakayoko who i feel has done more gets criticised for almost everything

Probably more appropriate to put Biamou - na then

You could easily sum up a lee Burge performance like this... and you’d give him a 7

O’Brien is much th same, but has kept two clean sheets. Deserves the place

It might be a sympathy clap for how he was pissed around by the other players and the manager at Oxford on Tuesday

O'Brien - 7: Distribution was a tad hit and miss however he made one fantastic save and commanded his box very well. Still don't feel comfortable with him in goal though.

Sterling - 6: Really not understanding the hate. Yes, he needs to get himself forward more and looked hesitant when a crossing opportunity was available but defensively I thought he was solid.

Hyam - 8: Thought he was fantastic today. His ability in the air has come in leaps and bounds. Assured on the ball as always

Willis - 8: Great all round performance. Dealt with their centre forward, Taylor, well when he came on.

Mason - 6: Looked effective going forward, bags of pace, but crossing was very poor today; his final ball definitely needs work. But given his young age I'm excited to see how he develops as he didn't look out of place at all and caused problems for the Plymouth back line.

Ogogo - 5: Thought he was poor yesterday. Sloppy passes and gave the ball away far too often to warrant a higher rating. Showed some defensive qualities though.

Doyle - 7: Didn't put a foot wrong yesterday and passing was much better. Gave a grilling to those who deserved it as well. A true captain.

Hiwula - 6: Seriously scrapes a 6 as more often than not I forgot he was on the pitch. Some great dribbles though and clearly he dives well.

Bayliss - 6.5: Doesn't warrant a 7 as although he made some great dribbles and looked a class above the rest, some of his passing/decision making was slightly erratic.

Andreu - 5: Some pretty touches but I thought he was very poor yesterday. Passing was horrendous and looked like he panicked every time he was closed down whilst on the ball.

Bakayoko - 6: Had a solid game but definitely not a target man, I don't think any of his flick ons to our players were on target. Confident in taking the pen though and movement was good. Needs to stay onside more.

Subs:

Biamou - 4: Didn't do anything right and looked slow.

Shipley - 6: Would've got a higher rating if he didn't miss that open goal. Looked a real threat yesterday on the left.

Thomas - 7: I would've given him higher but I don't want to get carried away. But wow what a threat he looks on the ball. He was turning the Plymouth back line inside and out for fun every single time the ball came to his feet. Have we finally found ourselves an out and out winger that is fit and can actually make the step up?

Referee - 11: Sky Blue blood runs through his veins.

I think the contrast in speed between bakayoka and biamou meant biamou looked very slow. When its just biamou and andreu it isn't as bad as they are both slow

Biamou has always been slow but I thought yesterday his whole movement was sluggish. He looked like he'd been hitting the gym though as he looked a lot bigger compared to last season so maybe this was the cause of it.

O'Brien - 6. Good but still question marks over him. Had one brilliant opportunity to launch a city counter attack but buggered it up and hoofed it straight to the opposing goalie.
Sterling - 6. Not sure what more we are getting from him that we couldn't get from Grimmer. He was OK.
Hyam - 7. Seem to get better as the game went on. Solid and comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Willis - 7. Did what he does without being outstanding.
Mason - 7. Like what I saw of him, just needs to be prepared to go forward a little quicker.
Ogogo - 6. Solid enough, one particularly nice crunching tackle from him.
Doyle - 7. If that defender didn't block that volley attempt from that corner I'm pretty sure it would have ripped the net out! Fantastic leadership as always.
Bayliss - 7. In and out of the game but looked the most likely to create with the ball at his feet.
Andreu - 5. A few good bits of link up play but didn't influence the game like he can.
Hiwula - 5. Struggles to know where to be out on the left, first half came inside to often, second half dropped too deep to help out Mason against their fullback.
Bakayoko - 7. I like the look of him. Made decent runs, albeit poorly timed on most occasions. Was brave enough to grab the ball for the penalty and put it away, I can certainly see why we've paid money for him. Needs working on but could be class.

Subs
Biamou - 2. Absolute shite yesterday, played us into trouble on one occasion and generally looked out of sorts.
Thomas - 7. Looks a good bit of business to bring him in, low centre of gravity, rapid, direct and good vision to play Shipley in late on.
Shipley - 5. Missed an absolute sitter, not sure about the clamour for him to start. Did have a few shots but it was late on against a tiring 10 men.

Plays to the crowd and waits around after too have selfies. Because of this the football limitations get overlooked and gets a minimum 6 every time he steps foot on the pitch.

It’s not a bad thing to do. It’s more the important goals away at Notts county I think.

See they lost 4-0 at home go Yeovil. Think first win since beating us 6-2 last season
