I suspect I'll go to my grave not knowing if he could have been any good for us, but what must he be thinking about his decision to move to us?

Obviously brought in as the backup plan when the Chaplin deal stalled and now, of course... we've signed Chaplin anyway, so he's demoted down to reserve. Had a couple of games, but in a strange system and when he was bedding in anyway.

Would he be thinking it's been a mistake to come here? Have we spent some cash on a player that, ultimately, we don't actually need? I suspect come next summer he'll be moved quietly on, and we'll say no more about him.

The saving grace from the club's POV is that injuries to Biamou and Pnticelli mean he's one of a group of four forwards, but he's never really going to get a chance unless Chaplin gets injured, is he? Sometimes a footballer's career is about being in the right place at the right time, and neither of those seem to have aligned for Jordy Hiwula at Coventry City.

Feel sorry for him. Looks like he could be a tidy player and hasn’t been given a chance really. Nearly scored in the first game of the season but was denied by a great reaction save.

Still, we need back up for Chaplin so maybe he will get his chance. Chaplin can’t play tomorrow so maybe he’ll start so we can stick to the same system.

He may get his chance fairly soon if chaplin keeps fluffing his chances, but yeah, I agree, him and Bakayoko both seem like a waste of money at the moment.

Clearly a confidence player, Robins says he isn't a left midfielder as he is a striker and then proceeds to play him on the right of midfield.

He should have been up front to play where Chaplin has been playing to really get an idea of him.

Baka is arguably stranger we had Biamou and JCH and he seems like a different type of player to them anyway so not sure what was the plan for him.

Yep, we've (rightly) settled on a system to get the best out of Chaplin, but didn't do the same for Hiwula. As Chaplin's always been the #1 target anyway, it makes it doubly hard for Hiwula to get near the first team really.

Still time for him to make his mark. It's a long season ahead and I injuries could come into play too, especially if one of them was to Chaplin.

Proven at league 1 level for fleetwood,Bradford Walsall fans also saying they would have and him back when I read on their forum regarding Baka sale to us.

I think Hiwula looks a decent player 2 good chances first gAme a 1 on 1 wide & a great reaction save at point blank range.Hopwfullly he’s given his chance soon in his correct position.

JCH has played well last couple of games so I’m not advocating dropping him but should he get injured or something I would love to see a Hiwula/Chaplin partnership think along with Jodie Jones it would work well.

I understood it was a weird quirk that allows him to play in the league but not if we meet them in the cup.

And as for Hiwula, I think he's been really unfortunate. He is quicker than Chaplin so can play on the shoulder alongside JCH. I would give Chaplin time to find some goals but if not firing in the next 5 games or so, I'd straight swap him with Jordy.

It's just good management to have cover in every position to allow for substitutes, injuries, suspensions and loss of form.

So O'Brien Grimmer Davies Thompson Mason Kelly Ogogo Andreu Jones Bakayoko Hiwula would be the cover for last Saturday's starting eleven.

I'm just pleased that it's so strong.

Very strange. The obvious thing to do while we were chasing Chaplin was to use Hiwula in his place and get the team used to the shape. Instead we stuck him left wing and put different types of player up front to no avail.

I’ve liked the look of him and in fact would’ve been happy to give him a run if Chaplin hadn’t been signed, or if he needs dropping.

Jordy - it's close, but it's not Jordan. Therein lies the problem!

He might be playing tomorrow against Portsmouth. Chaplin cant play against his parent club.

Jordy would do well alongside an inform JCH.

That would be interesting but we’d have to drop the long balls.

I’t will be interesting if Chaplin doesn’t play tomorrow what MR does imo the obvious like for like replacement is Hiwula don’t have to change anything else.

Even if Hiwula got a one-off game tomorrow, it's not exactly what he signed up for.

He is here and needs to get his head down and take his chance when it arrives.

I thought he showed signs of a good player when he’s been given a chance, especially considering he was out of position.

He also has pace which is a worry for defenders, and up front as part of a two I think he could cause problems playing off the last man, chasing flick ons etc.

Definitely wouldn’t write him off yet, it’s still early in the season and as we’re now playing two strikers, he’ll surely have more of a chance.

Always thought Baka was the panic buy?
