….had as many left footed players in and around the team. Just posted on the Jack Burroughs thread (who looked suspiciously left footed) and it reminded me of a conversation coming back from Southend. Can't ever recall having so many left footed players in the team.

Let's see how many we can get to - and see if anyone can think of a previous team with so many.

I'll start it with # Doyler

What's the problem with left footed players?

I remember during the Chris Coleman years we had a few. He made some comment about how he had trouble signing left-footers only to come here and find we had all of them

I noticed this as it seems there's a massive imbalance. JCH, Chaplin, Baka are are all left footed and then the majority of our defenders are right footed apart from our left backs (obviously). The team is completely topsy-turvy.

Am i remembering this correctly...in our championship days, we didn't sign David Vaughan, the welsh midfielder because he was left footed, despite the fact that he was a decent player, because Coleman? thought we had too many lefties ?

I've got two left feet. Well, that's what I'm told when I try to dance!

No, you might mean David Bell? We then decided to give him a ludicrous 4 year deal when his contract expired!

I think Pressley was the same, I remember him not signing a CB, because he said he wanted a Left footed CB to bring balance.

Being one footed isn’t just about passing. Defenders have a dominant foot when tackling. So I fully understand why coaches prefer a right and left foot combination when picking their preferred centre back partnership.
