I wouldn’t blame him if that was the case. However, in my view, he’s not ready to make the step up because there’s too many occasions where he could’ve made better decisions. Take today, there was one shot where he took a v low % shot to the keepers near post when we had 2-3 players waiting for a cross. A dangerous player at Championship level if he can take his end product to the next level.

Fantastic with the ball at his feet, and is good going forward and getting back in defence. Would be sorely missed.

I was with a Derby fan on Christmas eve and he seemed to think there was more chance he would stay than be recalled.

Derby fans rate him apparently but aren't sure he's quite ready for the first team. Alledgedly one or two of their other players who are out on loan got their recall confirmed already, prompting thoughts that Thomas might stay.

I must say today's injury does worry me a bit. Could be the factor that sends him back.

My mate did also say the whole 'cheat-gate' incident on Twitter surprised him!
