Following various statements this week it is now clear that nothing is going to change unless ALL parties involved in this saga are prepared to start acting in the best interest of Coventry City Football Club.

We therefore feel strongly that it is time to stop the “blame game” and get on with the business of saving OUR club.

We welcome SISU’s willingness to withdraw their legal action although their conditions are far from straightforward.

We don’t believe that a new stadium is either needed or feasible. After six years of rhetoric about such a stadium we remain sceptical and believe that all parties should focus on areturn to the Ricoh with CCFC working in partnership with Wasps.

However if that’s their intention we would urge SISU to keep their word and to work with the Council and Wasps to bring this to fruition.

We therefore urge SISU to show they mean business by starting the process of withdrawing the legals.

Any comment on that CJ? It very much just reads as if it could have been put out by the council yesterday.

Their opinion on a new stadium is irrelevant. They seem to have ignored that SISU has asked primarily for CCFC to be allowed to continue to play at the Arena. They show again that they just cannot help themselves, their must be opposition to at least one bit of a SISU statement cos it's SISU innit?

The feasibility or not of a new stadium can be tested once CCFC return. If it would cost in the region of £30m to buy into 50% of ACL, a new stadium or other arrangement sounds more feasible than carrying on as things are.

Can you explain why you think the trust think we don't need a new stadium? How can it be a good thing that we continue to play at the Ricoh without access to enough income to make the football club fully sustainable? Don't get me wrong I still don't think they would build a stadium, however I don't see how the concept can be argued against.

Like you say, why would they be against a new stadium for CCFC (if it was actually going to happen)? Why is it less feasible than buying into half of the Ricoh?

The more they put random things out, the more obvious it is they are just involved with the PR and some sort of game that is going on.

Their statements aren't echoing what fans are saying when you look online / social media etc. Of course SISU need to drop the legals, they are completely ignoring the fact the council refused to turn up to a meeting or won't talk to SISU at all to negotiate which could then end up with the legals dropped is strange.

How can club possibly survive healthily in the future without crucial revenue money generated from owning their own stadium.

That’s the biggest problem-how gives a fuck if intention to actually build one is not there.

Moving forward CCFC need their own stadium!

This is the thing though, Wasps and CCC are obviously hand in hand financially. Whilst we're tied to wasps at the Ricoh, wasps pinch a percentage of our revenue, which in turn most likely means that CCC get a share. If ccfc get their own ground, neither wasps or ccc can get their dirty hands on any of our revenue, meaning they'd both lose out.

In truth, I think the council/trust are only Pulling the "let's stop the blame game" because they've realised that people aren't just blaming SISU anymore. It's coming to the councils doorstep, so they're backtracking and panicking

Exactly.

From what I can see from the usual accounts (one being the trust board member) who spin stuff for the council they are just making up that SISU want the council to pay for it and build it for them.

They have no idea what the terms are because they won't engage about it or discuss it. They know full well that SISU aren't going to drop the legals first on the hope that people then start talking, that's why they just hide behind it in the statements.

Why are the Trust also hiding behind that rather than encouraging people to get into a room to actually negotiate? The logic of it doesn't stack up.

Why would they prefer us to be at the mercy of Wasps / CCC forever?

We also urge Coventry City Council to work with SISU in finding them suitable land, if available, in line with the local plan within Coventry and to assist with the planning process.

We now call for all those involved to cease the stubborn refusal to cooperate and urge all parties to set aside their historic antipathies and work together on a long term solution for the club and its long suffering supporters.

Be that a new stadium or long term deal at the Ricoh the future of this great club is in all of your hands - don’t let us down.

Work for one common goal in good faith, history will judge you.

Similarly we urge Wasps to show they mean business by sitting round the table to discuss a short term deal whilst the new proposed stadium is being constructed.

After all what do they have to lose by agreeing a deal in principle conditional upon the legals being dropped.

I don't by any stretch think SISU arnt equally to blame for the mess we're in but the council are by no means squeeky clean either.

As i've said i highly doubt that a new stadium will be built, it could just be SISU trying to buy time waiting for their appeal, but anyone that is actively against a new stadium, you have to question motives... i for one would happily move into a new place.
