is he the major problem here? Is he the puppet that is also directing Wasps in all this along with the councils approach is slowing anything down regarding CCFC?

I despise SISU don’t get me wrong but if SISU did put a four page pile of shite application in (whatever) to the council, why don’t the council work with them to help them do this correctly? It’s pathetic and I’m more convinced now it’s George Duggins behind all of this.

I wouldn’t SISU to own CCFCs stadium but I certainly don’t like the councils behaviour in all this.

But is George Duggins just a name that has replaced Anne Lucas who replaced John Mutton and let’s not forget the present Lord Mayor John Blundell once leader of the Tory group and present leader of the Conservatives Gary Ridley from a council point of view this issue has consistently been cross party and just as importantly a name that’s been around since 2011 Tim Fisher.

It’s a shame that any one individual or group can influence the outcome of such a situation. It should all be transparent and for the benefit of the city and the football clubs supporters. We will never know the full details and reasons why we are at this point, but greed and self interest has been a major driver. Let’s hope we eventually get what the club need to have generations of happy fans going forward, instead of temporary fixes year after year. All to blame, no one to be accountable!

The trouble is that (like a cross section of our populace) some of the key players will be West Ham supporters, fans of Scottish clubs, Manchester United etc. Their handling of these matters will not be influenced by any great love of our football team, nor any desire to do anything possible to achieve a positive outcome. The politicians are guided by the 'experts' behind the scenes at the council (e.g. planning, finance) ; however, if the politician applies little pressure to the 'expert' to find a way to make it happen, it will go nowhere. So, for me, it is the politicians that could make it happen, but are not doing so.

From a previous life, I know that some of the 'experts' are not CCFC fans (see first sentence) but cannot speak for the politicians (although they are certainly not acting like it)

I'd like to think it was as simple as that - I suspect that there would be a lot of other 'support' that SISU would ;request' (find us a hotel chain, mega store etc to help fund it - build us some access roads etc (who pays?) which takes time, money, resources (City Council's))

Like civil servants, those that 'do' are never independent and impartial, but rather are very much in the sway of, indeed controlled by, those that 'say'. Behaviours, facts and figures are always designed to reflect the desired outcome and approach of those at the top. Well, that's my experience of being a civil servant.

As the Conservatives are supporting Labour actions on Ricoh, Wasps etc. you'll need a third way if that's your beef - Lib Dem or Green, with the occasional communist or racist in some seats.

I said in another thread, it wouldn’t surprise me if the full facts weren’t known or undue pressures were put on people to get a unanimous vote. Surely at least a few would have voted against it if the full picture was available.

It can also work the other way. What threat had SISU made that pushed the entire council to vote for said deal, without any rebellion? What was so insidious about SISU's dealings nobody wanted to stand apart?

I had an extension on my house and paperwork handed into the local council had to be 1\2 an inch thick before they considered it.

If anyone wants to stand in an election as a CCFC candidate I dont mind chipping in with some of the costs. I cannot stand as I live outside the boundary.

A good showing wouldnt get them out this year, but they would be changing their chance pretty quick if they thought they would lose their seat next time around.

This scenerio has been brewing for more than a year and imo we have all been complacent towards it.

SISU won't be submitting plans until they have an agreement to buy the proposed site.
Else they would waste hundreds of thousands of pounds planning the build, then be beholding to the council not just for the planning permission, but to agree the land sale / long lease as well.
Get the sale price agreed now, then look for planning permission.

The big issue with that is there is cross party unity on this subject, as I understand it anyway. And if that's the case, I doubt it would make much of a difference.

As for Duggins, well frankly I wouldn't trust him to run a tap, let alone a council. He's pure car crash material.
