That was ......umm....err.....

Well, I had to lie down after.

Totally exhausting and exhilarating.

I think I know what will now happen, but will keep it to myself.

Again that felt like a very last episode.

Be interesting to see how it all plays out next week.

Enjoyed it! Much like Otis i felt like i needed to take a lie down. There was a couple of things that i didn't like but then it's never gonna please everyone is it! The part im on about it in the spoiler tag so don't open if you have not seen it yet!
Looking forward to the final episode but it's also going to be a bitter sweet as ive really enjoyed the series since it began and i will be sad to see it go. Still the prequels to anticipate but who knows if they will be on the same level this was.

The way Cersi got killed off was disappointing, so many ways they could have done it with some good dialogue with an enemy but instead a few bricks get the glory!

I think I will hold my opinion until the final episode - this felt like the first part of a 2 part finale.

Let’s see where they take it.

Maybe it was a metaphor.

She was shitting bricks anyway, so maybe a poetic justice.

Prediction - within a year of it being done, one of the major actors will break rank and call out the shitty S8 script.
Agreed and I think your avatar will be the person to do it , he’s already commented about how he felt sidelined as a character

I thought that was brilliant. The only thing that annoyed me was the dragon being invincible this week after one being taken out with one shot last week. Apart from that everything was spot on, acting brilliant, very subtle bits of dialog that summed characters up. So much happened. One of the best ever episodes.

Feel quite underwhelmed tbh.

Yeah me too.

Varys dying was shit and everything that happened after was predictable and the death of Cersei was a non event. I also thought some of the cgi was piss poor. Especially during the Hound V Mountain fight.

Ooh and lil Ayra is once again invincible! Zzzzzzzzz

The dragon was a little annoying, five times the amount of crossbows but all had a turn each, last week it was nailed in 3 shots. The episode certainly thinned the crowd for the main characters and I thought killing off both Jamie and Cersei together was fitting. Didn’t really understand Arya’s part tonight, went down as the kick ass assassin, turned into a scared girl then called an Uber horse and rode off into the sunset

I agree . The dragon thing was the only part that bugged me too. All a bit too easy this week, but a fabulous episode none the less.

Arya managed to avoid death about 17 times. Cersei and jaime killed that way was pathetically underwhelming. It's as if the writers have purposely ignored the prophecies from the books, all the character arcs and just decided to spend all their time on visual effects than anything else.

Jaime is my fav character of any TV show. His character redemption is unbelievable, through the books as well it's one of the main themes. When tyrion and jaime hugged I thought I was gonna cry, the thought of jaime dying made me want to cry. Jaime has now died and I'm like, ehhhh? Nothing but anger about how poorly it was done. The killed my little brother prophesy was unbelievable and they've just ignored it and had them buried by rubble whilst arya 'can sneak up on the night king' stark survives about 3 dragon attacks, hoards of dotheraki taking anyone out at will and buildings falling around her.

Sorry I'm just ranting. Visually looked great, storyline and dialogue, awful

After all that Cersei has done, to die instantly with the man she loved was a huge anti climax.

The show is wrapping up in a very convenient and unsatisfactory way.

Twitter is full of hate for the writers tonight. I'm ok with an unhappy ending, this is what thrones is... But this is supposed to be a happy ending. The night king is dead, cersei is dead and Jon will be on the iron throne... And yet... It's just so poor

I liked the fact Danerys went mad and fucked the city up. I think that is very GOT but the way everything else went and the writing above all is poor.

Tyrion keeps making awful decisions and got Varys killed, the one man who knew Danerys was mad.

Jon Snow has lost all judgement and balls and just does anything he's told by "his queen"

I could go on.

I did enjoy some parts but it just didn't feel like the show I've loved for nearly ten years.

"This show has got too Hollywood"
"Why didn't Cercei get her comeuppance?"

"Daenerys turned so quickly"
Dany for several seasons -
"I will take what is mine with blood and fire
They can live in my world or they can die in theirs
I will crucify the masters, I will set their fleets a'fire, I will kill every last one of their soldiers and return their cities to the dirt
When my dragons are grown, we will take back what was stolen from me and destroy those who wronged me
We will lay waste to armies and burn cities to the ground
You told me to do nothing before [Tyrion] and I listened, I'm not doing that again"

"Why would Greyworm kill for no reason why Dany was told unsullied wouldn't do that?"
*greyworm goes through seasons of developing emotions and falling in love only for that women to be killed in front of him
"You said unsullied wouldn't just kill people"

People bitching about this show cos it's cool now. Genuinely nothing would make some people happy.

Ah man, it’s obviously healthy not to agree on everything and I obviously still value your opinion, but this is one of the first things I’ve ever strongly disagreed with you on. After all it’s all a matter of opinions, but GoT used to be like football to me, I absolutely couldn’t wait for the next episode. Hand on heart now, I wouldn’t be that fussed if I never watched the last episode. It all seems so over the top and ridiculous now. We’ve watched like 80 hours of tv for someone to waltz through on a dragon and obliterate everything. So disappointing in my opinion, and absolutely nothing to do with it becoming fashionable.

Ah, come on now. Calling criticism "bitching" because you don't agree with it is totally reductive and childish.

I wouldn't call you a dumb fucker with no critical thinking skills just because you thought it was one of the best eps eva.

I think they could have taken longer and the pace has been a bit rapid over the last couple of seasons but if they wanted to end the story this way then at least they've saved you an extra 10 hours watching to be disappointed.

Genuinely, given where the story was at the start of the season, what would you have done differently?

An honest answer is I’m not going to try and make out I’m some inspirational storyteller and writer because I’m not. I think it had gone too far at the start of this season to be honest so maybe I would have been hard to pull back in. It’s an entirely different show to what it was when it started, and that’s fine. For some people it’s still amazing and that’s great, I just sadly don’t feel that way about it anymore but that’s also fine.

If I had to pick any other criticism of season 8, it would just be that everything feels a bit rushed, but I guess in killing off so many characters it was always going to be so.

I thought it was a great episode, but see it has divided the critics too.

As has been said, Dany was always going to go batshit crazy. Never any doubt.

I'm sorry but they've ruined Jaime.

He's my favourite character and had the greatest story. We see a guy at the start of all of this who is seemingly a poisonous, terrible guy to see him gradually and slowly stripped away to reveal this more broken, deep character who just wanted to be a knight in the Kings Guard, but he felt he had to betray honour for the greater good and to save millions of women and children.

Fast forward to season 8 and he's just essentially said "haha okay, fuck the innocent"

His character has been crushed in more ways than just the physical.

I've been watching Thrones before it was the in thing to watch and I fell in love with how the story progressed. I wouldn't say this season has necessarily shit but it sure has been lazy.
