You'd think if it was now likely we'd be playing outside Coventry they'd be stepping up the PR to try to sell it. I just want to know either way now, this constant will we/won't we is getting tedious.

Not particularly. But never say never in football. I do think it's dangerous to be clinging onto hope though - which hasn't been helped by the wave of rumours recently. Whether they're originating from Wasps stirring the pot to further shift the blame onto SISU, or they're genuine, I still think it's wise to take them with a pinch of salt. I don't doubt conversations are still going on behind closed doors but unless we give Wasps indemnity I don't see any way forward in the Ricoh negotiations. Neither the club, nor SISU would be foolish enough to agree to such terms though, hence why it's of my opinion that we should be preparing ourselves for a ground share.

Whether it's what we want and hope for who knows until it's actually signed, but the next vote is 29th (next Thursday) and invites/agenda need to be sent by this Thursday so an announcement must be imminent. If it doesn't happen, you can bet your last £ that Notts County among other relegated sides who have a vested interest will all be campaigning to win support for their re-election.

It will need resolving without any further extensions as teams will have budgets in place, targets acquired and contracts established etc.

My understanding is that Blues is 100% off, therefore if the alternative options are not approved, then the situation could become far more serious than simply being temporarily relocated.

I half wonder if Wasps wanted to hold off making any agreement to see whether they qualified for Europe, but then again I think any faintly plausible theory could be the truth!

St. Andrews has been off for a while. I spoke to a business associate who has strong links to a number of midlands clubs, especially at Birmingham and he informed me that talks had broken down between BCFC and CCFC in April. CCFC had a number of backups to that, but none of them were feasible. Not sure if they've reconsidered these though given our situation.

I don't think that the covenant banning professional football at the Butts was ever added to the lease terms. The stumbling block to a deal with CRC is that they refuse to have business dealings with Sisu.

Did he? I thought he said that BAFC and CCFC hadn't spoken since their initial talks? Butts is still a no apparently. Not heard Sixfields mentioned but could be a possibility as we're running out of groundshares.

Look as far as Wasps are concerned the request to the EC is legal action and they now won't negotiate even though they could use the footfall and won't want the bad press, SISU don't seem to be blessed with the best diplomatic skills so will likely piss everyone else off and CCFC won't benefit from F & B at another league club. Cov Rugby is not suitable at all for a number of reasons plus they don't trust SISU either.
I can see us heading down the Nuneaton route, the only club desperate enough to try and gain something from a groundshare.

Firstly despite my contempt for SISU I think they have been done over after provocation and therefore legal action could ensue at some point. Also someone owns Nuneaton stadium and that someone might well be calculating a few figures right now.

Yeah, possibly. However, I also believe that the owner is planning a hybrid pitch (not the same as at Ricoh) that although ok for Rugby, is a no under EFL rules for football. Allegedly being installed for start of next season.

Norman Smurthwaite owns the ground. He has recently sold Port Vale and well known for being a CCFC fan.

Lots and lots of work needed. OK, you could do temporary stands, but you'd effectively need a new stadium there.

That being said, long-term it could be an option, you'd think... but only if it wasn't at the expense of the Bees. I know they're not there now, but as long as it stands they have hope, even if very slim.

As an aside, the garden centre opposite is being cleared so has obviously been bought. Combine the stadium with that, and we could have had enough land for our needs.
