The UK saying hands off the NHS to the Yanks is as likely as the UK holding all the cards in the EU negotiations. It will happen but will be spun so much that people will end up accepting it.

Crucially many of those promoting Brexit want to either privatise the NHS or make it payable at source. Some of who are vying to be the next Tory leader and PM. Haven’t seen any of them saying hands of yet.

To be fair most of Trumps press conferences are followed by his staff trying to back peddle from all the comments he's made up on the spot.

Sure those that were highly critical of Corbyn for allegedly refusing to meet Trump will be equally as critical of Trump now its transpired that Corbyn requested a meeting and Trump refused.

Which makes Corbyn a liar of course and an utterly embarrassing egotist

If it's a choice between selling off the NHS to Trump or staying in EU, it's a no brainer. Stay in the EU and tell trump to do one.

Hopefully this will cause a few people to start to wake up to reality. Unfortunately a lot of effort has been put into priming the U.K. for this so who knows.

What do you mean by selling the NHS to the states?

There is not one elected Mp who has ever advocated privatising the NHS

It’s too late and the UK has become so Americanised anyway. Perhaps Orwell was onto something ;)

It’s a step above the Primary school one with the constant mentions of Corbyn to throw everything off track.

How’s that throwing everyone off track? Perhaps you’d like to explain how the nhs will be privatised?

I’m not sure you’re one to talk when you see everything through the lens of your hatred for Corbyn and Labour.

The only PM whose endorsed any form of privatisation is of course the EU friend - the blood stained Blair creature

That’s all hyperbolic shite and again no more privatising the NHS (which is really a suggestion we are going to an insurance based system) than of course the strategy deployed by the blood stained Blair Creature

Are you chair if the debating society Tony? I bet you are a master of it.

Why do you think they are so desperate to get their hands on it? The USA will take full advantage of the UK’s vulnerability and it’ll be hugely in their favour.

You're wrong G. Cameron brought in the Procurement, Patient Choice and Competition regulations 2013, they were the first ones that enforced competition and advertising domestically contracts for NHS services. These were partly superseded by the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (derived from EU directive but no health opt out sought by UK gov) which enforce EU wide competition.
Blair used the PFI model extensively but this was of course a Tory design. The Daily Mail and Tories would not have supported the massive capital spending needed by the 90s to rebuild crumbling schools and hospitals. I'm no fan of PFI but can see the political reasons for it if not the economic.

I thought it might be. Debating society? Oh, you mean anyone who doesn’t agree with your nonsensical factless ramblings of a mad man.

You’ve linked a series of hypothesis none of which have remote evidential fact

Yes it’s this I am referring to

Blair welcomes private firms into NHS

But why? Do you think people will be ok with it because Blair did a bit?

You’re the one accusing everyone of being a 6th former while going back to tribalism again and again.

No I want a definition of what “privatising the NHS” is. Privatisation is the removal of public funding is it not?

No. It is removing the control of entities performing public services from the public sector to the private sector.

I don’t think though that’s what the hysteria straplines are trying to create
