Lee Pomeroy murder (8 Viewers)

The more I see of this the more I see a middle aged white bloke losing his temper in front of his kid and chasing down and cornering a black bloke who walked away.

A blade is involved in a 25 second attack but I’m not seeing the loving father murdered in cold blood anymore. I’m seeing a younger bloke losing the plot under provocative and aggressive behaviour.... this is manslaughter isn’t it???

It’s not manslaughter when you’ve made a decision to carry a knife, knowing it’s illegal, this would suggest a certain level of preparation.
He may not have chosen a victim, but a prosecutor would argue that he was prepared to kill someone. I think a jury would be quite happy to convict of murder.

The fact he was already armed and had already started looking for grief with the victim doesn't back that story up.

Yup.

Just because the victim was arguing and being a bit provocative, that doesn't negate the use of a knife and the multiple use of it and then stabbing someone 18 times.

Certainly doesn't scream any sort of self defence does it.

I have seen the footage. The victim should have just walked away.

It's certainly not just a straightforward murder case by any means.

Yeah I get that...and if that’s the case it’s hard to defend it....but he was pursued through the train carriages.....what if the bladed item ( which is what it’s being referred to) wasn’t a knife... but something that may be carried around as part of normal life. I can’t think of anything but the guy was homeless according to some reports so could he have carried something daft like a tin opener or something ??? That would give a whole new outlook wouldn’t it?

Not when he’s used the bladed item18 times!!! That’s hardly self defence.
I’m sure there may well be more to the story than the tabloids are letting on, but I’d hate to try and defend the guy.

On a crowded train? Have you actually seen the CCTV footage? There are more empty seats then what you get when we play at the Ricoh Arena. If the train had actually been crowded I doubt Lee Pomeroy would have bothered to follow Darren Pencille through two separate carriages, but he clearly felt the lack of people made pursuing Pencille easier. I also find it strange that Pomeroy's own son has told the jury his dad would never back down to anyone. There clearly seems to be a narrative that suggests Pomeroy was the aggressor, but it still doesn't make it right he was stabbed 18 times.

Looked like the eventual perpetrator walked away. (just playing devil's advocate)

The bloke is from ‘no fixed abode’. If he’s homeless or squatting he probably always carries a knife for ‘protection’. That said, he doesn’t look destitute, and obviously, you can’t go around stabbing people, even if they are racist.

A tin opener??? Yeah, I'm sure someone homeless would feel it necessary to have one.

Also I'd think it pretty impossible to stab someone 18 times with a tin opener.

He wasn't homeless, he was shacking up with his girlfriend.
He rang someone after he'd argued with the deceased and said he was going to kill him.
Stabbing someone 18 times is not self defence.

Yep. Witnesses said that the accused said 'I am going to kill this man' (or words to that effect).

That doesn't scream self defence at you does it.

A black guy in court charged with killing a white guy.

To be fair, he was filmed doing it!

But that’s not the question is it... he’s admitted to killing him.
The question now is did he set out to kill him?

But nobody has said it was a knife....it certainly was a blade that was able to cut. But I’ve not seen it confirmed as a knife!
I was close to the one of the 2 Andys who were murdered in Cov in the nineties in reflections night club in the burges... that Idiot took a knife to those young lads. If it proves to be a knife then he should burn in hell.

So, I’m seeing an aggressive overbearing twat who picked an entirely avoidable fight and ended up dead.

And a very long jail sentence for someone who’s prepared to stab a guy 18 times in a public place in broad daylight.

That’s natural justice as far as I’m concerned. The only one I feel sorry for is the kid. I hope he’s getting the help he needs to not grow up like his dad.

Natural justice? Huh?
