Yes, I know he is a legend, Yes, I know he has been a fine servant to the club etc etc. But fuck me, he is boring on the radio. Is he full time because the ex players association wont go to St Andrews? BBC really need to re-think this. Am I on my own here?

Didn't the ex-players association change their stance on going to St. Andrews?

Think he's been decent so far and brings something different having been at the club for so long and also so recently.

Remember he's not a broadcaster and is only a couple of games in.

His voice isn't exactly radio friendly but he's doing alright. I think he's still settling into the role. However, the thing about Junior Brown playing was pretty bizarre and given he was on the coaching staff last season not a mistake I'd expect him to make.

Benno is more exciting but his analysis at times isn't much better than if they'd asked a fan to do it. His fixation on getting down the wings is up their with '4-4-2'. I agree that Cattlin always seem to offer good analysis and cares about the club.

Dull as dishwater but a good asset - someone who's been on the staff with MR and is probably best placed to give insights into the management team and how they're approaching each game.

I’ve found him quite interesting, particularly so because he knows a lot of the players he’s talking about. Been a few inside knowledge type comments.

He dosnt seem to get very excited, but I guess that’s what being on the staff for so long does to you.

Ex-players association changed their stance on going to St. Andrews and now will have players attending.
Have to agree Oggy is quite boring on the radio, very monatone voice,

He's been pretty good so far, offers a lot more insight than most of the other guests they have on.

I do go to the matches (season ticket), plug in my radio and listen to the commentary. Missed the first game as was on holiday, on got back Tuesday evening. Is that OK with you?
OK, your choice and fair enough.

However doesn't it drive you crazy hearing stuff that is so blatently wrong? Oggy's summarising and behind the scenes knowlege I can accept and respect, but the 'commentating' is dire.

I hanker after the good old days of proper commentary, 1960s style.

He’s a million times better than foster plus to be fair to Eakins he’s much better when he’s got a ex player with him who knows what’s he’s on about

New kid on the block that will no doubt improve and still finding his feet. He does know his football to be fair and is very knowledgeable.

I don’t think he’s been too bad. Would like different people. Whealan does it for Leeds and they love him.

He contrasts Clive perfectly: Clive is very excitable and has a perfect radio voice, Oggy has a lot of football knowledge and knows who all our players are.

He's fine.

Yes his voice is a little monotone and boring, but he actually brings some decent analysis to the table. Having worked with the majority of the squad he's able to point out various strengths and weaknesses, or points out how we're set up/trying to play.

Certainly a million times better than Martin 'state the obvious' Winch.

Crikey, give him a month or two. I would imagine being a new presenter behind a live mic can be stressful even with the knowledge he has. Maybe a stepping stone into a new career.

I agree its been good to have someone talking about the team who has a recent insight in the club and from a players perspective.
Who cares about his voice its better than listening to someone who hasnt played the game for 50 years or clive who cant even get the players names right

I agree that Cattlin is very entertaining. Also thought Andy Blair was ok, and more surprisingly Noel Whelan & Gary McSheffrey too.

At least he knows what he’s talking about & has some sort of technical knowledge & a sense of the tactics & real insight. Some of the guests they have on are garbage & haven’t been to the City since the Prem days & have no clue about the club.

I think, given he’s only just started, he needs a little time!

What did he say about Brown?

I probably going to get ridiculed but I quite like him.

If you just hear what he is saying then it can become boring but if you listen to what he’s actually saying it makes sense

Interesting, gives inside knowledge, good guy to qna, and something new.

But then as a cov fan u gotta find something wrong so I guess that it is that he doesn't mess up enough to be a cwr commentator

I don't even think hes been that bad... i prefer him to winch and foster. Still wonder why Dave Bennett hasnt been asked..
It's the BBC playing it safe, with Oggy, ie won't say anything to upset Robins and the players .

Dave Bennett on the other hand just might speak his mind and say something controversial.
