It's more likely so that people don't slip up like Duggins did when he was put under a little bit of pressure.

Sorry for keep pushing the same agenda nick, but this is exactly what I have been saying, time for the owners to ramp up communications about getting back to Coventry. They need to either write (or publish as they have already written) their letter to ccc asking for their support in identifying a site within their boundaries. If CCC come back with that stock answer, ccfc can then ramp up woodlands site proposal with outline of what’s been submitted and who they are waiting on to move it fwd.
Owners have an opportunity to get fans who aren’t currently going to Birmingham onside with statements like what ccc have said today. Pressure needs to be kept on by the owners, as without it, the stock line will be delivered on an ad hoc basis.
Clearly it’s not a CCC priority to get us back to Coventry any time soon. It should be our owners !!

Yes I agree but unfortunatly a majority of this City are not from here and dont give 2 fucks for our football team, that is why the council can do as they please on this issue.
The Club need to up the pressure on the council followed by us fans.

Don’t residents have an opportunity to vote them out ?. If an independent candidate had as part of their manifesto, return ccfc to Coventry, would enough people feel strongly enough on this matter to vote for them ?, I suspect not. Are the council at the very least, partly to blame, of course, but it matters a lot less to the current sitting councillors than it does to the owners of our club

I get your point about priorities, but I don’t understand why advocacy of the cities football club is incompatible with providing social care for the vulnerable and adequate waste disposal and recycling.
Do you think, for example that the city councils of Hull and Swansea hate their elderly residents and preside over mountains of household rubbish on the streets?

Not really, the place is utterly tainted for me. That said, it'd be better than renting from Wasps and better than playing outside of Coventry
Would be a bit of a downer no doubt but over time I think it would be more beneficial than playing outside the Ricoh and owning our own stadium.

The economic impact of the university and car industries in this city is an order of magnitude ahead of a L1 football team. But you knew that and are playing dumb.
I notice you cut off the bit about suing the council as well. Relationships matter. You don’t get to act the c**t then whine that you’re not getting special treatment.

If relationships matter, the council would have said the tone even before SISU wouldn't they by trying to build a decent relationship? Remember when they were laughing potential buyers away because they had the cheek to ask about the Ricoh?
How's the relationship with the tax payers getting falsely done for fines in the city centre or the one with the charity the council were found to be running a witchhunt against?
Why does everything have to be either or? There's students and a motor industry so it means the council should try and fuck the football club over. There are starving children so the council should fuck the football club over.
I am sure they were thinking about that when they were paying the CEO 6 figures to go and work somewhere else or paying people hush money to not talk about particular things.

I would rather own our own ground with a football pitch than a co own a rugby field.
Surrounding area ease of access train and bus routes, half the cost a load of people share there pitch with another club or a rugby club and with the right money and investment the pitches can be as good as they get with only 1 team playing, now I ask you why not would it be a good idea?
Poor access possibly out of Coventry nothing in the surrounding area, twice the cost and probably be no where near 25k stadium we would require especially if we are now on the up.

As I said in the other thread, no they didn't.
Friargate has always had space earmarked for at least one hotel since its inception a decade ago. The land and the potential usage has been there all that time. It's been showcased at various exhibitions numerous times during that period so the fact that this development had space available for a hotel has been widely know for a long time.
If there is an issue it's whether they should be putting funds towards the hotel development, which again has points both for and against.

With regards to the earmarking you mentioned from a while ago who oversaw this? Separately why can't they earmark land for their cities primary sporting asset?
