Love our fans. Top of the league and we should be scoring more. Frustrating night at times, but we fully deserved a win and we got it.
But we should be scoring more and will need to in the future if we want to keep this up, or at least score earlier in the game so we can control it. The gulf in talent/potential between those teams was a division and a half apart tonight - maybe Pigott aside I'm not sure one of their players even makes our bench.

I have never walked off a football pitch in my life and not already been thinking of what needs to be or what could be done better before I've even reached the changing room. The moment should be enjoyed but it doesn't mean everything is perfect, even when top of the league. We could have been 3-0 down after 20 minutes too.

Ya fine margins for sure

Had we drawn we would look to hiwulaa miss so doesnt mean should be forgotten now

That said had we lost it shouldnt mean we lose the plot either. We play a winning brand of football now and just need to keep perfecting it

With respect, you (and I) are biased. Players like jobello, kastaneer have not set the world alight (yet) and no way are Wimbledon fans going home wishing them two were In their team tonight.

We don’t have a Devine right to be top of this league and hammering teams. I’ll happily take just being top

Grabbed a result tonight, this team will improve, we have good players to come in yet Allen, Jones and Walsh and O’Hare will get better. Despite our last gasp winner this 2-1,win wasn’t a lucky win, it should have been all over before half time.

There’s a couple of blokes by me at St. Andrews who I swear have missed almost ever goal so far turning up late or leaving early every half

We are the equal second highest scorers in the League, only Peterboro have more by way of 6 they scored last week, why is there an issue over how many we score

Really hope MR changes some of the play out from the back when we play Posh away - think it will bit us on the arse with their forwards. They are average at the back, though. Can't believe the Wombles bloke missing that header from 6 yards out in the middle of the goal last night - that was a big game changer for me.

Loved to see how much it means to the players too, really good feeling around the club this season
This is key. There were worries at the start how the move would impact the playing staff but I was hoping it meant MR was instilling a siege mentality amongst them and they seem to be playing for each other.

AFC pretty well at the bottom of the table but they still could have scored a proper goal ( after all their penalty was a gift from the footballing gods) - was a bit squeaky !
Some work to do but i'm liking the results - some of our play is just brilliant - its just the final touch that needs cleaning up - i thought Hiwula had blown it when he went around the keeper

It's about winning margins, not total goals scored. 9 of our 15 goals scored were in 3 games where we also conceded 8. We've also played the current bottom 3 and only scored 3, whereas their average goals conceded is 2.95 per game against other clubs, so par would have been around 9 goals scored.

There are consequences to not killing games off early - the two biggest being:

1) Only ever 1 mistake away from dropping points and this is L1, mistakes are regular.
2) The effort that goes into chasing a winner all the way up to the 94th minute in games or protecting a fragile lead over a long season. It limits Robins substitution options with the need to keep the best 11 out there for as long as they can manage, and we can never give key players a rest or back up players extended game time. How nice it would have been yesterday to be 3-0 up after 60 minutes and give Eccles half an hour on the pitch or protect Godden by giving Biamou 30 minutes. That will take it's toll over the weeks and when injuries happen our back ups risk being undercooked.

Last season Luton won 27 matches: 37% 1 goal margin, 67% 2 goals or more. We've already matched their Home wins for the season by a 1 goal margin

Barnsley in 2nd won 26 matches 42% 58%

And this is not a new issue for us, our record last year was 14 out of 18 (78%) of our victories were by 1 goal and that has carried on into this season with 4 in 5 (80%)

If we were able to secure promotion doing what we are now it will be a truly remarkable achievement. As exciting as it currently is, I don't think what we are doing now is sustainable without scoring more goals, if automatics are the aspiration. There are plenty of things in our favour though - team spirit is clearly massive, a couple of key midfielders still to come back, obvious mistakes to work on to elimate goals conceded.

This is very much skewed by the Bolton result and their results against others though. Wimbledon have only conceded 3 once this season, Ipswich, MK, Fleetwood and Rotherham have all beaten them 2-1 as we did.

Discounting their win against Bolton, Our closest rivals currently Ipswich have only had one other game where they've won by more than a 1 goal margin.

We are hard to beat and ultimately have been the definition of consistent in our results so far this season.

It's not skewed just by Bolton, Southend have actually conceded more goals than Bolton, albeit played a game more.

Played 8, Conceded 24

Conceded 1: Once
Conceded 2: Once
Conceded 3: 3 times
Conceded 4: 3 times

Felt he came off very badly in the QT shown before the ref with Farage. The very epitome of liberal elite and just a bad debater. Also find the way he keeps attempting to get positions in Labour purely because he’s a sleb quite disrespectful to existing activists. And don’t get me started on someone who describes himself as a man on his promo material attempting to use AWS to get a selection.

Like I say, love his comedy and agree with his politics mostly, just don’t appreciate his tactics.

It looks like although we are winning games, we are still suffering from the same malaise as last season - not scoring enough.
Those in the know always reckon that a team with promotion credentials are those that keep winning even when they're not playing particularly well. We keep winning.

I feel we have played the weaker teams but we are in the right position having played them, we could have 4 points more but the bottom teams are where we slipped up last year.

I do believe that if you can be there at the top then teams do play you slightly in fear and looking to see how they can draw the game or take something from it.

Next phase of 10 games will be critical but no more than the next 10 after that.
Tough team to beat, one that can create chances and we will need to ride our luck at times like all teams do but I like the players spirit and team attitude at the moment with different players stepping up for different games. Will be amazing when Hiwula hits form with the chances he gets.

First school report is good application, some nice results, demonstrating the right attitude working together but could do slightly better.

Please smash the next 6 games and reduce my heart rate and blood pressure please.
