Still think the players available lend themselves to 4231...

Always believed you pick your system around your best players and for us that’s Walsh and Kelly, and O’Hare playing centrally. 433 only has one holding mid.

Feeling optimistic (ish). Our style of play IS effective until the final chance, but at some point that will come good - it did last season. Plus, we have to be realistic, for all his strengths MR is a creature of routine and will not change his formation unless forced.

I’d bring Kelly back as an experienced head in the middle and unfortunately that would be for one of Westbrooke or Shipley, probably the latter as he had a quieter game against MK. I’d push Walsh slightly forward, as he’s good on the ball and I’d like to see him with it in a more advanced position.

O’Hare is wasted out wide, but if we get the system working as it should and get quicker ball forward he is very capable of being effective in an outside forward role. I know people are bemoaning the loss of Jobellos width, but the outside strikers aren’t supposed to be wingers. If him and Hiwula make lots of runs through the inside channels and off the back of defenders, I’d back all three midfielders to pick them out.

Im not a boo boy like the majority, but unfortunately Baka is a weak link. He has attributes but can’t seem to make them work and as such we carry him, especially in this system.

I hope we have some attacking threats on the bench other than Biamou and Kasteener. I’d prefer to see some of the on form and rated U23’s given a chance. I still believe there’s a player somewhere in Kast, but on current form he’s useless and doesn’t work in a footballing team.

Let’s hope we do something tonight as for all the positives of a young team, confidence will be more fragile.

Also, I expect Ched Evans to have a good game, for all the moral issues, he’s a good striker.

2-1 City.

100% agreed with this. The first goal is vital. If we ever do get a lead we are going to be incredibly difficult to play against given our possession game. We need a couple of confidence boosting wins and everything will be back on track.

Nothing else other than a victory will do and then the MK result will be a good point. If not.......

Kelly had to come back in for Westbrooke, we’re simply not the same team without him. Very strange decision to not change it in some way, again I’m not confident based off that line up.

Unless MR was happy with the result and performance Saturday so doesn't want to drop anyone, which is also very strange.

Mason must be carrying an injury to have not played the last few weeks and then not even on bench. Expect one of those he’s tried to manage it but needs an op messages next week!

glad hiwula is playing yes he looks awkward and misses chances but at least he gets in positions to have them

Very surprised no changes - this surely has to be the last chance for this line up before he starts changing. Really can't understand how Kelly can be on the bench and play a fair bit of another get yet not be considered for starting tonight. If he's not fit to start he shouldn't be on the bench.

Can only be that's he's not up to playing 90 minutes.

But given the type of player he is surely you want him in at the start to settle things down and if you have to take him off so be it. Better to get the good start. I suppose you could argue if we took the lead he'd help us see the game out but given the way our strikers have been playing recently and who's starting today is that likely to be the outcome?

Quite happy to look like a tit after the game but same team is shambolic. If he don't pick Kelly soon we're gonna fall out
We can make a pair of them then! Hope I get this thrown back in my face later but Fleetwood, in a night game, against a Joey Barton team who will be big, tough and experienced.... They will game-manage our kids off the park if we're not careful. Last year we played Fleetwood midweek in the middle of a sticky patch of form and got tonked 3-0.
