Quiet on here again, I suppose there’s nothing to moan about yet.

I’m not even too fussed about the individuals (although obviously I’d like the team selected in my previous post), but please no 4-3-3 today. Back to 3 at the back and 2 up front would be ideal.

Not sure about this one up front malarkey. We don't score enough as it is, playing just one up front isn't likely to help.

Just seen the line up; not as bad as is made out.

Yes Godden is up front on his own, but he has two attacking midfielders behind him, it’s absolutely not 4-3-3 which would be a disaster. It’s back to 3-4-2-1.

I’d prefer Biamou and Godden up front (or any two up top) but it could be worse. Equally it’s bizzare the two “attacking” midfielders (Shipley and Westbrooke) aren’t natural 10’s, yet there’s two sitting on the bench (O’Hare and Allen).

Still, it’s a strong bench, it’s not 4-3-3 and we aren’t leaving Godden completely isolated.

Interesting, Kasteener and Bakayoko both out of the squad.

Just seen Lincoln supporters in Digbeth dressed as peaky blinders.
Premier leaguesque levels of wackiness

I’m surprised Allen is on the bench - he’s rarely going to change formation - I think we will probably win this anyway

Not a big fan of the one up front but when we go two up front we tend to get overrun in midfield. We should be allowed 12 players, that would solve the problem.

People just assume the more you have up front the more goals you score. It's not FIFA lads. As someone says above, when we play 2 up top we get overrun in midfield.

How many games have we played 2 up top?
Love to see the average points tally as opposed to playing 1 up front.
1 up top quite clearly isn't working and the increased pressure it puts on the defence playing every week knowing we can't afford to concede is starting to tell - exactly as it did last year.
We have won 5 games since August 2018 by more than a 1 goal margin, it's not good enough.

Right. Ipswich literally didn’t let us have a kick in the first half at home in FA cup. Then he switched it (granted due to injury) and we were much better playing one up top with O’Hare in behind.

Although judging each game on its own merit this may be one of them matches to play two strikers.

We shouldn't be getting over run in midfield with wingbacks and 3 centre midfielders. It's as much to do with how deep our defence sit and our playing out from the back that leads to the midfield getting over run - it leaves the midfield too much ground to cover to defend and support the strikers. For a team that tries to play nice football I haven't felt like we've had a lot of controlled build up play this season, instead we quite often see the midfield or wingbacks driving forward with the ball and we're quite counter-attacky in style -for me another symptom of having too much ground to cover.

When this team starts to settle down with everyone coming back from injury and jells together then it's going to get interesting.

We haven't played many games with 2 up front because when we do generally doesn't work.

I appreciate we need to score more goals, but I don't think that's down to the formation.

If we weren't creating chances then I'd agree with you, but we do create chances we just can't finish them. That isn't the formation's fault.

Looks like the midfield 'box' formation today, as we used against Colchester in the cup which was one of our best attacking performances of the season.
