Reckon a fair sprinkling of fringe first team players and one or two returning from injury might feature

Few players there who are nowhere near the first team, not playing regularly for the 23s and at an age they should be playing in a first team somewhere.

Kastaneer, Wakefield, Ponticelli, Young

That’s the danger of our recruitment policy. For every Westbrooke and McCallum, there is a Wakefield and a Young. Doubt they stretch the budget all that much though so it’s a calculated risk. Kastaneer on the other hand...

I'm praying for a Dutch team to take Kasta off our hands before the window closes.

Kastaneer would be amongst the highest earners - the interview when he signed gave me the impression they would be selling him on - well we are but not in the scenario they imagined

I thought Young was well thought of? Is that wrong, or just too many people ahead of him?

Shame about Wakefield, I was hoping he might make decent RWB cover with a bit of work.

He’s looked off the pace whenever I’ve seen him, but I still don’t want to give up on Ponticelli yet. Not until he’s had a proper chance somewhere.

Young was only given a one year contract. Even Bosma got a two year one. He’s been okay whenever I’ve seen him but I’d be surprised if he was kept on. You have Burroughs who’s 2 years younger and Eccles who’s next in line and Bartlett who’s injured. Also Ngandu who’s still an U18 player. So that’s 4 players who are all younger in his position who have had more of a first team chance

A loan would be ideal but if he can’t even put the effort in to get fit for the club who’s paying his wages then it all seems a pointless exercise really.

Are there any takers for him?
Kasta?
Not that I've heard but I suspect his agent might be punting him around
Possibly same with Hiwula

I though Young was highly rated. He played in an EFL Trophy game earlier in the season at St An and looked good, praised highly afterwards by Robins too.

If he was highly rated he’d have longer than a one year contract and the club would have extended it by now

Never rated Wakefield tbh he’s done pretty much nothing even at under 23’s level

You don’t see him in the first team again you mean like ever ?

Yeah. He wasn’t ripping up trees anyway and will be on of our highest earners. If we go up, he won’t feature. If we stay down, we’ll be looking at moving him on.

Hiwula may go but I don’t see anyone taking Kastaneer on unless his agent can con someone into thinking he’s a “bit of a coup” weather they fall for it like we did or not is another thing.

I’m not so sure Robins seemed to like him & felt he was only going to get better but tbh why did we even sign a guy who already had 3 ACL’s in the first place.Problem is we also don’t play with wingers anymore.

I’ve looked at the line up and wonder if Pask will be playing in the middle of a back five, fullback or in front of a back four will be interested to see what happens
