This is the lad who caused problems when he came on in the 2nd half at shrewsbury down the left, I remember being impressed with his direct running and good left foot, could be an ideal left wing back with the way we play. But what now for McCallum and mason? Or will Robin's try him in one of the attacking mid positions? Be interesting to see where/if he fits in

Yup just checked he supplied the good cross from the left for them to score in final minutes.

Wonder if with Jones coming back this is a chance to add a 4231 or 442 option to the squad. Robins brought in Kastaneer and Jobello and effectively lost them both, so maybe wanted that option all along.

Something like

Kelly Walsh
Jones O’Hare Giles
Godden

or

Jones Kelly Walsh Giles
Biamou Godden

Added to the box midfield and the 352 it makes a good range of options.

Absolutely this. Gives us more tactical flexibility which will be important in the run in.

We need players who will turn and get at defenders, you can instantly see the difference when o hare comes in as opposed to westbrooke.

It's good to have that type of player.

It might be looking at going back to the 433 too. It’s good to have such a solid squad that we’ve got these options

Westbrooke is much better at this comfortable running with ball at feet compared to say Shipley. Ohare is next level.

Shipley is the one treats the ball like a hot potato. But he pops up with the odd goal from nowhere.

Not sure what this new lad is like.

We have to be pleased with this addition it’s the type of player we haven’t got also means we can be more patient with Jodie Jones and we have strengthened our squad, still got McCallum so we should be stronger, good work by Robins.

Shipley has some of the best vision for a pass outside of Walsh for me. Plays well as a deep strike partner as well IMO.

Read the thread lol...he supplied the assist from the left..a decent cross. Was a decent break.
Reading Wolves forum he was on their bench which is good they thought he maybe would of gone to the championship,Shrewsbury fans don’t seem happy about it saying they couldn’t afford the loan fee.

Does seem a bit of an odd one. We don't play with a left midfielder, we brought McCallum back on loan and have Mason waiting in the wings for LWB. ACM we've got Shipley, Westbrooke, O'Hare and potentially Allen and JJ who can also play there. Seems like a player who can play the positions we've got the most cover in.

My only thought was he was brought in because we were expecting others to leave that then didn't happen. I also wondered if it might be one of those with a view to signing at the end of the season but he's not out of contract and seems quite highly rated by Wolves. Time will tell I guess.

Nevertheless, I hope he has a successful time here.

Biamou played left midfield the other night

Who played right midfield? Seems an odd thing to do when you're playing with a back three and win backs to put a big striker just in front of one of them.

Was it like earlier in the season when MR said Max didn't follow his instructions? He seemed to play wide left then too. Mind you I think MR would've mentioned it post match if he felt he'd done that.

It's just such an odd thing to ask him to do when his skills don't suit there at all, especially when you've got Godden needing support in a central position.

Yep, we were desperate for it at Fleetwood and against any team that presses high

Hiwula I called for against them second half it was desperate for someone to stretch them bet Fleetwood couldn’t believe their luck we just give them it all infront of them

Might be something in that............
I suspect Wolves may have offered him late based on how well Bright did here last year and it was too good an opportunity to ignore

We appear to have struck up a good relationship with Wolves they have a good team possible top six outfit seem to have good youngsters on the fringes and imo a top bit of a Klopp type manager, maybe there will be further loans in the future.

Hopefully we can sign Giles permanently next season .

You do realise he’s one of their best young players and been around their first team so we won’t be signing him?
Trust you to put a damper on it. You can only dream.

Chris Badlan our Head of Recruitment was at Wolves for quite a while much of which was dealing with emerging talent
He was also at Norwich before coming to us

They seem a little bit bitter and jealous

That’s another thing that I just cannot get my head around. Coventry, a “ no ground, deep in debt fook up of a club “ sell a player for millions. Whereas little old Shrewsbury, who sell players on, some very good players, get relatively bugger all . Is McCallum really worth £3 million?.
Sometimes, and I could be completely wrong but here we go, sometimes I feel that clubs think , it’s only Shrewsbury , how can they expect millions for their player. And we seem to think, yeah, we cannot ask too much cos we’re only a s**t little club so anything south of a million will do us.

Coventry are the same as us, a League One club, NOW. They may have won things in the past but currently they are at our level.
Maybe i’ m paranoid, but we need to realise that we have, and have had some very good players that we have improved from when they first signed and ask for a more realistic fee for them..

If Norburn or Laurent go, or when they go , I hope we hold out for some decent money.

Anyone interested in what the agreement with Wolves could be? It was obvious with Bright that he had to be playing game in and game out so will be interesting to see if Giles is thrown straight into the starting 11....it then begs the question of where he would fit in and who we'd take out

Do they? Pretty sure it’s the same stuff we see on here about how we get supposed rubbish fees

If he’s the player we are told he is I think he will play apart from our full backs we don’t have a lot of width and pace.

Apparently he moved to us instead of returning to shrews because wolves want him played as a wing back not a winger as they had played him

Put him on the left and O'Hare on the right. See if Godden is quick enough to get in the box.

It isn't about who you drop. It is all about playing your best side and having options.
