This stage of the season comparison last nine years - It show that the two teams in first and second postion one of them went up at the end of the seaon in 8 of the 9 years - The two teams in 1st and 2nd postion in March three out of the nine years both teams went up automatically

I always remember the season that Shrewsbury spent an eternity in the top 2 bar the last day... How, when we supposed to have taken their 2 star players, I will never know!

Talking through my shirt, I would rather hit the top at a late(ish) stage of the season like we have, unlike being there from September and almost trying to hold on until Spring.

I can see us and Pompey getting promoted automatically. Rotherham seem to be drawing a few too many games right now - it’s such a scrap up there because you can’t rule out Sunderland either.

Every game really is a cup final for us for the rest of the season.

Where do you find the league tables after x amount of games played?

I use 11vs11 for that although it's done by date not games played but you can manipulate that with a bit of playing around:

Noteablly Wolves and Bournemouth did not hang around long in the Championship and took their momentum to propel themseves into the premier league.

I think you're better served looking at last years promoted teams, to gauge how we might do if we go up.

We all but beat Brum on their own muckheap, and largely outplayed them. Less pessimism and more optimism needed.
I have no doubt the squad being built is with an eye to a higher level. One or two players in is all that would be needed. Bournemouth had to rebuild a squad to compete.
Football can not be judged on what other do or don't do. There are far too many variables.

I've done a quick piece of analysis on the final 2 months of last season and it's interesting to note the limited change in positions in the top half of the table and the massive movements in the bottom half, with Oxford, Rochdale and Wimbledon showing top 6 form. Just goes to show that no team should be taken lightly at the stage of the season!

Agreed! The teams in the bottom 6 are often pretty dangerous at this point of the season - fighting tooth and nail to stay up. Tranmere, Rochdale and Wimbledon will be difficult games for a few teams.

Your mid table sides with nothing to play for are often the best pickings.
