We were fucking ticking over like a well oiled machine. Now it looks like we might resume at some point, playing games behind closed doors. Which triggers my Coventry fan syndrome.

Symptoms include shittingmyself about the loss of momentum. Not funny when there’s 1 bog roll left in the entire US.

Goodbye socks

One good thing is, Jodi Jones should be fit and raring to go.

I would be worried if we weren't 7 points clear with a game in hand .....but we are.

Everyone has to hit the restart button, so all in the same boat..

I am pretty chilled.

There will be no tired legs as we had seem recently from Kelly and one or two others so we will have everyone fit and raring to go. We should hit the ground running. Perhaps a friendly behind closed doors with Birmingam to get ourselves up to speed would be useful?

I am not all convinced we will hit the ground running. Why should we? I think all teams will be a little rusty.

Think it also depends on who we play first. That could have a big bearing on things.

We had become a well drilled fully focused machine geared to winning matches seemingly without distraction. Have we now had time to think about how important promotion is and it may make us start to panic. Bit like the tight rope walker who gets nearly all the way across between 2 sky scrapers and then pauses looks down 10 feet from the end, thinks about what would happen if they fall and then starts to wobble whereas before was looking straight ahead walking confidently.

Nah.... Robbins has got this.... he will have talked to them every single day and is keeping the engine ticking over waiting for the acceleration to be applied as soon as the flag raises on the opening game of the new mini season we will now face.

We are easily the best team in the league and will still be the best fully tuned raring to go I can assure you none of our opponents will want us first. Ten games left need to win six to make automatics confident we will.

I would be a bit worried if we were in 2nd with the pack right behind us. I would be a bit worried if we were 8n the pack and chasing 2nd as we could fall out of the top 6.

Going up as Division three winners would be nice. But automatic promotion is the important thing. Can two sides go past us? We have a game in hand over every side down to Wycombe in 8th place. We are 7 points ahead of Oxford in 3rd.

All sides have the same advantages/disadvantages. It isn't just us.

So lets say Oxford or another side average 2 points per game. This is a very good return. 9 games left. 18 points. 7 points behind us now so 11 points above us. We have 10 games left. 4 wins 6 defeats would have us above them. 6 defeats? Only had 3 all season.

The only time to be worried is if we have a bad start and others have a good start. But I don't see that happening.

Only side that I can see benefiting are possibly Oxford, who had a few players crocked(iirc), and now will possibly have recovered. Still wouldn't swap our position for anybody else.

They had just won 5 on the bounce. Can't see that run being stopped being a bonus.

Momentum complety goes out of the window the longer this goes on - If its a long period the first 6 games will be like starting the season again till the lads get back into game mode - Fitness and who has kept themselves in shape will be a key factor - However in our favour our confidence will still be their and also we have a great manager and coaching staff that will ensure the lads are kept on ther toes - no reason why we cannot pick up where we left off -

I just wonder whether Jones Is likely to be more involved if we do get back to playing games again.

Would guess that MR will stick with the tried and trusted, though Jones might become a more permanent bench feature and get more sub time late in games.

I still have doubts this finish the season will happen, I know Rick Parry said that’s the goal but he has to say that officially as will the Premiership today, I’m certain there will be a plan B not yet divulged.

I cant believe I am saying this, and if you had asked me 10 days ago, I would never have agreed
Now it is about hoping to keep our health a job, and everything that follows from that eg a roof over our heads and feeding the family

When we are through this if we all survive and our lives are not too different, then football will become important once more

You pretty much described my life there. There are times when football isn’t the most important thing, but you only tend to realise that when you experience them. Difference this time is that we are all experiencing it together.

It’s important that football is there when we want it to be though, that’s my worry for some clubs.

Been there several times before.

The last ended a few years ago. Lost 6 members of my family in less than 12 months. 4 were very close and a toddler the wife and I had been trying to adopt.

But then you come to realise how important football is. It helps bring normality back for a couple of hours at a time. It gets you out of the house when you don't feel like going anywhere. It gets you back into meeting up with people when you feel like being alone.

Yes the football isn't important. But it will be one cog in a wheel back to normality.

But I have to say, thinking about getting back to football beats arguing the toss over graphs depicting the sick and dead on the Coronavirus thread.
